Who here don`t use effects at all?

yeah man i've been thinking about incorporating a digital delay into my setup to get those really cool rhythmic delays, but every time i read about time signatures, dotted eights and triplets, and having the repeats decay in-between notes, i just get confused :(

wonder where people learn how to use digital delay as it doesn't seem very easy to use at all :(

its easy as pie actually.

haha! yeah goose got it right! Just use your ears lah!!

Set the delay repeats to the rhythm.. duh.

Tap tempo makes it easier. Tap it to the rhythm.. thats all!

If you can tap it fast, tap it to 8 beat or 16 beat! :)

If you're feeling funky, tap it to a dotted crotchet or a dotted quaver. :)

LOL.

edder bro, always thinking of opening something up and fiddling with the insides.

for me, i believe in keeping my setup simple. that way, u dont tap dance, u rock out more on stage and keep the crowd entertained.

for me its just rmc wizard wah- sd2(with remote footswitch)- cabaretlinda SK- marshall sv1 chorus- dod digidelay/ sampler- korg dt10.

must be like KISS!

Keep It Simple, Stupid! :)

Reviving this thread! Can't believe its been a long time since I started this one. It suddenly hit me just now about me writing a thread about not using effects, did a search and tadah..here it is..

Lets see if there are more ppl here who don't use effects at all and just play straight thru the amp or even use them but not that much. Me:

Custom Strat/Custom Tele > Goosonique Citrus Compressor > Modtone Dyno Drive > Boss Blues Driver Goose mod > Epiphone VJ Head Goose mod.

Simple but effective. I may wanna add a reverb pedal in there soon :)

mine is:

guitar>wah/OD>amp(OD and reverb).

too many pedals distract me from playing the guitar. if I have 2-3 drive pedals when I'm playing, I will tweak the pedals after every note I play. LOL.

acoustic geetar.

HA! Beat that!

Otherwise I use a pedalboard like every other guitarist and I sound like I plays a geetar. *sad*

Mine is,

Guitar > SD-1 > Metal Muff. Straight up distortion and cleans are the best.

Haha. Agreed, drive and cleans only for me too. My rig is similar. Just that my overdrive is a Digitech Bad Monkey and my distortion is a Beta Aivin HM-200. My pedals are in a different order, though.

Guitar > HM-200 > Bad Monkey > Amplifier.

i do a bit of both.

Sometimes i get lazy and hate to hook my pedal board up. I only do it when i get into home recording mode.

On usual days, i would just plug into my vox 100vt and play straight up with the built in pre amps cause it does have a unique tone without having the signal run through all those effects. I like it better that way.

:)
