Service Feedback

Think you missed my point, joel.
What I was saying that this forum had way too much flaming on this company that some 'constructive' ones are easily camouflage.

I've read many of the post and I have to admit that I disagree to many as well... if you know what I mean.

G77 for instance, do have a brilliant guy named Beez in the shop but the old man with long hair.. think the name was Francis was one patronising prick if you were to ask me.

I got 'tail gated' when I shopped in City Music 6 years back that pretty much led to my halt in shopping with them.

Yamaha Once was great when Beez was there too. I went to the piano section and guess what? Same patronising attitute until when I paid up for one of the upright model (a gift for my cousin), there was like a 360degree change in attitude..

When I shopped in Swee Lee some 15 years back in Plaza Singapura, 'Nice Old George' even taunt me to leave the Guitar Magazine alone unless I'm buying.. exact words was ' Boy! You want to buy? Don Buy Don Touch!'. See? You got good treatment from one guy , in regardless of the shop , some others might not. Like wise vice versa..

My point is all shops are the same lah. I even bought online with Music123 and guess what? My experience was bad too!! for a USD299 guitar would eventually cost me SGD$800 plus plus after one big round and the fretboard was way way uneven!!! Ha! Called them up and all they claim was if I'm not happy, just send the guitar back .. at my cost of course.. which means I might just spend almost $600 plus plus and ended with no guitar???
My conclusion? I just laughed about it and chuck that darn guitar away and never to rely on what's being said or being reviewed.

Anyway, This is probably the last post and the last time Im visiting soft cos I just think that this whole forum thingy is so fullashit and fulla stereotyping ppl with the disability to face these shit upfront in real life that they have to resort to sitting up in their bedroom and bitch on the forum.

I'm not pin pointing any individual here by the way. I'm just doing what most of the softies does here.. 'Generalisation and getting Stereo type'. ;)

Have fun softiest..

Remember, spend more time playing music then to playing smart in Music Forums.

the internet has definitely brought good and bad things to our lives. i agree that the complaining part is getting quite bad. we just have to read between the lines and learn to see the bigger picture.

there are just some threads about complains. hopefully, some other information on SOFT will be useful of your future visit.

bro... SOFT isn't about the whiners here, instead, they are using SOFT to whine. the fact that the cyberworld has limited prevention measures, we know that the exclusion of certain undesireable characters are quite impossible.

but hey, i've been reading your stuff & i must say that it's a good attempt to keep things in the balance. as for you not coming back to be with SOFT well, that authority remains to be yours but be informed that value inputs will always be in my good books. :partyman:

My dear Friend (Hell cat)

Never mind...I have been in "Bollywood" music Industry for 18 years worked as Session Pianist/Keyboardist/Arranger.....Not taking your words to heart.. :) and I dont loiter around by "playing smart in Music Forums"....as you said...

I do understand your message..I appreciate that..But think of guys save money for the whole year and when they go to get their dream stuff..dont even get a piece of mind....in music shops....Just a bad feel...That's it...

My sincere request is to improve the service....to any one working in Music Shops....

if they chase you out. just go and buy a pick from there. and tell them off.

SEE I WANTED TO BUY SOMETHING. and show them the pick with a smile.

Ok, over the last week I've been shuttling in and out of Swee Lee to shop around for a new guitar and amp. I have to say, their standard of service has certainly improved with some of the latest batch of staff members. There still is, however, much room for improvement.

The first day I was at Bras Basah, the only salesperson who wasn't already tied down with a customer was this indian emo kid with thick black specs and spiky hair and a cb face. So I picked up the 60th anniversary strat, and he quite literally, began orbiting around me,

I was on the verge of leaving the shop but thankfully, Yani from the woodwinds section happened to walk past and cheerfully assisted me, even complimenting me on my choice of guitar . She even unquestioningly assisted me in checking stock with the warehouse when I noticed a deep nick on one of the upper frets on the display piece. When I left the shop, saying that I would consider, she even left me her namecard and told me to call her when I made my decision.

I went down to BB again the very next day, and I was served by a guy named Dul. He was also very helpful, and he bothered to sit down and sat down and explained to me how the coil tap on the sas36 worked and why my church should soundproof the worship hall.

So I finally get hold of an instrument cable and another lady named Stella assisted me, reccomending me amps to try out, and serving me with a smile even though I went through 6 pr 7 amps without buying any one of them. After I was done trying, she even reccomended that I go down to sims drive and look for a guy named Jason, who would be able to help me further. .

So the day after, I make my way down to Sims Drive, and Jason's not around, but another guy named Ray assists me, shuttling between me and another guy who is trying out the JSX, but managing to maintain a friendly attitude towards both of us. In the end, I try out everything and I still find nothing, but he continues smiling and tells me to look for him if I come back. The people at the counter at Sims drive, however, all have attitude problems. When I stepped into the showroom, I hadn't even gone NEAR the guitar racks yet, and this old dude at the counter SHOUTED at me in an agitated tone to put down my guitar bag before I stepped in.

So I out the guitar against one of their desks, and the person sitting at the desk SNAPS at me in an agitated tone to put it somewhere else. I do, and you know what they do next?

They LEAN an ENTIRE BOX of stocks ONTO my guitar bag. I shoot an annoyed glance at the old man doing it before he finally takes the box off my guitar.

So above all, their service has been improing by leaps and bounds.
