Honestly, i was away in Australia for a long time. Singapore salesman ain't as bad as ya think actually. I ever met an aussie fella trying to get me to donate for some charity society, and when i didn't, the person look at me with that smucked face and immediately the face turned black. It felt as though i owe the person something.... definately wasn't a good feeling there...
But well sales is like that, everybody has a rice bowl to feed, and when things don't go our way, it's really hard human nature wise to accept it nicely in perspective of the person rather than ourselves, especially when stress does come in...
Though every sales person definately know that theoratically that they should accept the person's opinion to what they whether they want to buy or not, but there are many times the person will think of their own ricebowl, it's just a state of human nature.
To be honest, the best sales environment i've met so far comes from taiwan, people there are really friendly as such, they will really go all out to help you. I was surprised when i got there... Even the taxi driver will keep asking others for your enquiries. you guys should go there one day, and yes, the girls are friendly too... 8O
Anyhow, it's true Swee Lee has been known for a bad culture of customer service, and that has been passed down through ages, i remember 11 years ago when i bought my electric guitar from there. And it's actually very Singaporean, dah, Swee Lee is a Singaporean company. So who should we blame, Singapore????
Is it true that Swee Lee sales people don't get commission for anything they sell???
