Service Feedback

I can understand that.

My personal opinion here is that Swee Lee is a Family Business and has been in existence for many many years (in fact the longest Music Company here in Singapore)......Very Chinese Oriented Culture and many of the staffs has been with the company for many years - This being the reason as to why things are as it is today.....Not only Swee Lee, many local Singaporean Local Based Company staffs behave this way as it's like a culture brought down from long ago.

Easy said that done - Changing culture of a company is indeed very difficult, furthermore - It's close to a Monopoly to them.....so no choice lah, what to do.

I also feel that way like you all do many a times, but what to do, still LL have to but my Hardwares and gears from them if I am looking towards a certain brand.....

AIyah ok one lah - The Salespeople like us also seow seow one lah - sometimes bad service...sometimes Extremely good service (because of mood)....accept the facts as what they are - no use complain complain, voice out everything here - at the end of day - Can we change anything here - NO, because we are not the Managing Director of Swee Lee lah.

from experience, that really depends on weather you're wearing a well-pressed shirt, or a cannibal corpse tee.

and to get things right, swee lee can contend for the 'most-overpriced items in the region' competition. Try looking for the same (authentic) instrumentsfrom say Thailand.

swee lees service sucks ass man , they would only serve me when my dad is there . do i look less affluent alone ? im the one playing and PAYING . if i bothered to do feedback forms , people will get fired

zax..think of it this way..

they do not know you..

perhaps..if u come with ur dad..they'll get an impression that ur completely new to guitar or perhaps worried that u might mishandle the equipments..so therefore they serve you..

but if u come alone..they may get the impression that ur familiar with the place or smth...or perhaps at least ur not a newbie..so erm..yea..they leave u alone..

either way..its not a bad thing aint it? i mean since u'll be able to get wad u want at the end of the day.

Just pick up the guitars yourself and try without asking la, as long as you don't damage it. Don't have to talk to them. The old man at Sims Drive also has poor attitude problem. It all boils down to the way they were brought up at home and at school. For example if you have ruffians as parents, you will not be very much better than them.

Actually most of the staff from the 80s, 90s are gone. i think some have been relegated to the sims ave outlet.

I get quite decent service whenever i pop by the sims ave outlet.

They dont bother me whenever i try out guitars or pedals or amps. All i need to do is ask. As long as you treat the instrument well, I dont think they have any reason to stop you from trying it out. Unless you are doing ala hendrix(smashing guitar, think woodstock. FIRE FIRE FIRE!!!!)

for the guitar part at SW at sims ave i think it was pretty alright. The guys there let me go in the showcase room and play anything i wanted. However the drum guy there was giving my friend a bad attitude when he asked to test a snare. He was like, we're preparing for sale so unless u serious dont try. Then my friend said he was serious then he guy was like 'haiya okay la' and reluctantly did it.

Pretty fffed up when ur thinkin of buyin. i mean who wouldnt mind paying a little more for good service yea? :D

We from the Soft's Drum Xchange Singapore needed 3 Bass Drum Resonants (a Black, a White & a Fiber Skin) to do up 3 Logos for our Bass Drum Identity. The entire market only have stocks for the white one.

Unfortunately there was really no stock in Swee Lee (and shipment takes about 4 to 5 months to arrived). My Drumming Instructor Alvin help us to call Arthur from Swee Lee who actually took the trouble to source it just for us so that we can have the Bass Drum Reso ready for our Group Photograph - I believed he must have went through alot of trouble (Arthur did came back only after a few days later sourcing high & low)...and arrange for me to collect it at the most convenience location which is _ their Bras Basah Complex Branch for me.

Such was the excellent service I received from Swee Lee and it happened just this month on the 9th October 2007. We were very happy, and so I had to put this up for all to know.

Thanks You Arthur & Swee Lee

NOTE : They did not know that I am a Moderator here at Soft. In fact Arthur didn't know me at all, we spoke only on the phone, never seen him before and they did gave me a pretty good discount too.

Well, each company has it's fair share of good and bad staff. Fortunately for me, I've always been served with good service. =)

My Squier 51 experience was a really good one. I was served by Dul over a period of one month. He was very patient and served me with sincerity. It took me a month to finally get the guitar but he was very helpful throughout. He paid attention to me and he treated me like a customer even though I showed signs of a window-shopper. Very very pleased with his service.

Apart from Dul, I have to highlight another praise-worthy staff. I was served by that young lady with multiple piercings and a great sense of style. She was also very patient with me and treated me like a customer even though, this time, I was a window-shopper. =p I couldn't resist trying out the Squier Vintage Mod!

But she still served me with a very friendly and approachable attitude which I haven't experienced from a lot of music shops. Of course, I do feel bad sometimes when I play with something I don't intend to buy. But so far, I haven't been yelled at or chased away. All I have experienced is good service from Swee Lee.

I guess I'm pretty lucky. =)

Damn Swee Lee, The only time I shop in their shop is because none available elsewhere, The salesman in fact most of them at Bras Basah sux big time.

I met 1 or 2 thats is ok in Sims Drive like Adam the sales manager in charge or Jai think this are the only 2 i can relate.
I come with loads of money buying a prestige guitar and all of them just trying to hide away in Bras Basah, I decided to ban myself from coming Bras Basah and only to Sims Drive only finding this 2 salesman that I mention.

I'm a malay and I'm shamefull of my race myself with respect to the bad service the malays in Swee Lee Bras Basah are giving. One malay guy down there even pretending not to know how to speak his malay tongue language to me. I ask him are u a philipino because he looks like 1 and does not reply me and give a sour damn CB face. Later he goes 1 corner and speak malay to his friends, I piss myself and saying KNN in my heart.

I wrote emails To Adam their sales Manager complaining about their bad service, all he did was replying an apology.

yup i totally agree that the old man at sims drive has a major attitude problem. too bad hes a big shot there i hear? heh but its weird the time i at sims drive everyone chatting among themselves but i see a grumpy old man stomping around being anti-social (or is it that nobody wants to associate themselves with him?) well wouldnt be surprising with such a sucky attitude.

hey hey dont say the old man. he was pretty nice to me one day. It was couple of days before the sale and he let me into the showcase room and play every guitar i wanted. not that i ffed around with the guitars, he was pretty decent.

zepp3lin, chill. some peeps are just like that. I agree however that sims drive does provide a better service so biggup for that ^^

Adam of Swee Lee, do us a favor get rid of the staff at ur brass basah shop and employ a better people for Swee Lee business or if not at least sent them for courses on human relation and customer service, you will never know that Swee Lee business can triple the profit if ur staffs are well train in handling pontential customers.

I ask him are u a philipino because he looks like 1 and does not reply me and give a sour damn CB face.

there's a Eurasian guy working @ MFO who's fluent in the malay language- maybe that's him. don't be conclusive if you do not have ready confirmations, you can check with us here first. we understand your frustrations.

no, Adam won't terminate the staff @ BB showroom. there are enough instances to vouch for the good services rendered there. maybe customers need to attend courses also- how to stop bringing bitter sentiments over on their subsequent visits to a particular store- not referring to anyone in particular, of course...

That Eurasian that u refering to his not there and I know who's there and who's not, and I know who's the malay there and you are not talking to a 16years old kid here, I've been to Swee Lee since the early 80's.
So you are saying, I bring in the money and profits thus buying things from ur shop and u wanna teach the customer a lesson, Come on man , which world are u in. I come in ur shop and buying things from you and imagine u or ur salesman pretending not to know that I'm there, does that mean I'm as a customer need to go for courses. I don't even shout at them demanding something or a howlian demanding customer, I'm a normal customer walking in trying to buy something from that shop.

I think if you are running a business like that saying customers should attend courses, definitely you will close shop in no time, because all the customers feedback and inputs you dont even care and you are not trying to improve ur business by taking care of the customers.
For your info a foreigner or and angmo walk in there and this pityfull sales personal treat them like god, I saw that with my own eyes and I'm not bull shitting here, it's the fact.

Be realistic man, they are like that with a F---ing attitude, I know you and Swee Lee got good relation because of ur product review for their shop and most product that you reviewed are from Swee Lee so don't be bias here supporting them. I'm a customer and I know what kind of salesman Swee Lee got. I don't flame them if they really put in effort to at least entertain customers with respect especially locals like us Singaporean
