Service Feedback

Thanks goodness Zep is not Adam of Swee Lee - or else, alot of staffs is gonna get a sack this year.....Hahahaha I think Swee Lee staffs if they did read this post they will hug & kiss Adam...and will automatically improve their Service from now onwards.

Facts: - Service Quality = How many companies here in Singapore truly instill a Customer Oriented or Marketing Oriented Culture - Very very few, easier said than done (as I had mentioned many a times) - - even Large Multinational Companies is not able to provide 100% Customer Satisfaction ....so let's be fair too here on Swee Lee (a Local Run Family Oriented Business) - - - Give them time lah...so to be fair to them. Swee Lee was established in the 1930s something right? - - - - To change ingrain culture is a long evolution process especially most of the staffs had been there for a long time (loyal staffs).

No-side taken - just facts of Corporation Culture.

...and I know who's the malay there and you are not talking to a 16years old kid here, I've been to Swee Lee since the early 80's.

I think if you are running a business like that saying customers should attend courses, definitely you will close shop in no time, because all the customers feedback and inputs...

Be realistic man, they are like that with a F---ing attitude, I know you and Swee Lee got good relation because of ur product review for their shop and most product that you reviewed are from Swee Lee so don't be bias here supporting them.

greetings Encik. first things first- you flare up here, you're going to lose respect. as mentioned in my previous post, i choose to understand your plight, more so because you & i are of the same race & that our culture promotes refined approach to such situations. i didn't assume you are a juvenile crying out for justice in these forum pages, if i did, specify my inaccuracies because i owe you an apology. i've been buying stuff from swee lee since the 80s also- maybe we are of the same age?

are you one of the customers whom i urge to attend ethics courses? of course not, there were no such references. the only reason why i said this is because i did see customers walk into stores (not just swee lee, mind you...) with attitude problem- they were provocative & demand customer rights. should something go against their wishes, they'd say the store is rotten like what others deemed it to be but it's their first time visiting the store. tsk, tsk, tsk... who's the more revered party, buyer or seller? neither. reverence is reserved for those who exercise control over bitter occurrences, seller, buyer or otherwise.

please do not assume anything- do swee lee & i enjoy an immaculate, flawless, relationship? maybe it's time i share with everyone here that there was one episode where i nearly whacked one of the supervisors/ senior personnel/ manager with my belt. that was a bitter chapter indeed & it very much had to do with customer service. it happened some time back & that person is no longer with the company. i don't wish to recall this event but there you have it...

i would like to reiterate that i bear no allegiance to any product brand names/ business entities simply because i don't get things from anyone for FREE... not obliged to protect anyone's back side, to put it coarsely.

so to brother Zepp3lin, Aidilfitri is still in season, should i have offended you in every way- maaf zahir batin... nah amik ni ketupat:

kekekekeke wow ketupat is my fav man, that's my diet for four days straight during early hari raya.
Sub, I know u are a nice guy indeed, infact old musician like us(not that old actually, I'm only 38+), don't like to see our own kind with a bad attitude. 1st thing, Selamat Eid Mubarak, Maaf Zahir dan Batin, if I offended you too, so we are (score) nil-nil(kosong-Kosong) right now. :)

Not that I did not want to totally patronise that shop totally, infact like i said before I ban myself from going to the Brass Basah side and luckily I met Jai at Sims Drive lately and I relate nicely with Adam regarding his customer service. I've deleted the emails already, If not I can show it to u all down here.

Yes, Swee Lee got a few old stuffs that I know of or seen since the day I patronise their shop at the old Plaza Singapura but the newer staffs they got to learn some service attitude towards customers. I got a few of bad experinced regarding their services, but well as you know some things you cant get anywhere else so like some of you all, we are Lan Lan and thats where Swee Lee got advantage of, "Don't care them(customers), they will come back no matter what" and it's really sux man.

Here's 1 incident that is very funny happening at Brass Basah side and still happening again and again even today, it was a normal weekdays and I happened to be in town to look out for some music related things, this guys were busy chatting inside, the moment I walk in suddenly all of them pretending to be busy, 2 of them action busy at the front desk computers like checking stock intake or something and 3 of them inside pretending to do some housekeeping do some action(wayang) like moving instrument to a better places. None of them even care or at least ask me what I'm trying to look for, I walk in like a gundu look around for at least about 15mins. In the end I ask a gal at 1 of the counter for some stuffs and she assign me to one of this malay guy, reluctantly with a sour face this malay guy pretending not to see me. Awkwardly I walk to him and ask, with a sour face than he ask me what did I want to look for.

I think the solution to this kind of salesman is money, Swee Lee should give them motivation like a service commission or something to get them move, that way every salesman will surely run for their customers because the more they get a customer the more commission they'll get. This ofcourse will increase business cost but in the long run = more profits because it's pass thru word of mouth to show that Swee Lee got a damn good service saleman and a damn good service quality and we will definitely come back for more often.

Yes, some of you said order online lor, yes I can do that order line, but no matter what musical instrument is not like you order a DVD online, dealers here can bring that same product here way much cheaper and I'm not that rich like some of us here easier said money is not a problem, but it's a problem to me. Furthetmore I only do online for the things that I can't get in Singapore.

Example: You go and order an Ibanez Universe UV777 online, do you all know what's the price in USA and UK or even Japan, they are double or worst UK is tripple. Unless you wanna order a rare model like a J-Custom that Swee Lee last time use to bring in but not now and I don't know why.

Maybe Sub, u can pass this msg to them at least, make them know what customers think of them, improve service and quality = more business and money.

By the way Sub where do you live?

bro, if it's posted here, chances are they'll read it. i won't intrude their work ethics, the people at both showrooms are great to deal with. i'm quite your opposite- when i'm at any guitar stores, i'd like to be left alone until i require help, then i'd approach the sales people. i guess different people have different quirks  tell you what, next time you wanna drop by bras basah showroom, i'll keep you company...

i'm in the CCK neighbourhood.

I'm in Woodlands, :) thks for the offer, Been busy now and do some practicing because my old band members just call me up for jamming, it's been years since i last step into a jamming studio, you know our kind married only all lepas tangan, sibuklah, bini tak kasi ha, with all that kind of crap, so like my band members say, amacam!! lepaskan gian kapa!!.

bro- go for it. nothing beats a resurgence of good ol' jamming with kakis! my wife is thankful because i only jam with machines- at home...

Whoa, those past few posts seemed like old friends meeting up again. Selamat Hari Raya, maaf zahir batin to both of you too! :D

Ps, ketupat + serungdeng(sp?) daging = Heaven.

lifele55, Selamat Hari Raya, maaf zahir batin to u.

I play along with my PC at home, but in the long run some times i get bored. I'm craving to play live in the jamming studio and nothing can beats that. Meeting frens up, scolding each other for losing the timing and stuffs like that, kekekeke.

I don't know, but I won't debate with someone who has been visiting Swee Lee for the past 20 years. Haha.

I really kinda find the service at Swee Lee quite fine. They just have one huge problem most people in the service line in Singapore have, and that is that big, wide, inviting smile that translates into, " Hi, you can come to me if you need any help because I am staff and I'll do my best to make your visit enjoyable."

Well, Four Seasons is Four Seasons because of that, service. Maybe Swee Lee can adopt that and be in a class of it's own too. Like the Four Seasons of music shops. =)

i have no bad encounters

my friend and i were at bras basah sweelee. my friend was looking at the ibanez guitars. wasnt sure which to get.

after walking ard the shop for like 15minutes, one of the guys attended to us. I think he's a malay guy with long hair and specs. I think his name is Dul?.

yeah, the 15minutes-then-he-help-usthing isnt a bad thing. he was busy attending to others but he attended to us promptly.

so yeah, he offered help.

Well, I'll have to go there again anyway. The Ibanez SZ520 I'm GASsing for can only be found at Swee Lee unless I custom order through Standard Value.

But to tell the truth I never really got pissed off there. Sometimes I get no service, but other times, I get good service, that time I went to buy some drumsticks (quite some time ago because I no longer use Vic Firths) the lady there was very helpful.

And my friend with me wanted to buy some strings and at the strings counter, had a hearty chat with the woman there.

Yeah, I was told to leave my bag at the door by the guy at the front counter. But he didn't do it in a nasty manner.

If you guys want good service/attention, go there with your parents, aunties, uncles or grandparents. They'll attend to you immediately once you step into the shop. The sales staff will be uber helpful and will answer all of your question. But if you go there alone or with some friends, they wont bother attending to you. This is based on my personal experience with SweeLee at BB and SD. If you guys wanna purchase something that is only available in Sweelee, dont bother window shopping/recce there. Youre wasting your time. Do your research online, read lotsa reviews and go to SweeLee when you have save up enough and test it there.

Hi, Everyone

I had just read all the issue of complaints abt SL Music (Bras Basah).

It's been a year plus i did not step into SL Bras Basah as their service really not up to professionalism standard even their internal management in their branch. Not all ex staff were lousy but maybe i can say out of 10 maybe 2 are nice.

Presently I don't know the staff over there right now & when i saw the posting of their service again of bras basah branch which make more disappointment.

I choose to head for Sim Drive as there are more varieties & friendly envoirement.

PS: When i buy or pay something, i don't like to see people's grouchy black face. I dont own them anything but instead they should treat us like nice as we are the one who paying their salary.

Consumer: Customer is always Right. Right to Choose & Right to Ask.

Managment: The more lousy management of staff, you are losing money.

Sales Staff: You are here to work & get pay. Please dont act like as if your dad's company. Whenever they wants you to leave, you will also gt sack for nthing.

A guide for you: Treat Customer like GOLD. Customer will pass message around. The Bad travel fast then the good ones. Building Return Customer is the most important thing.

Lastly, We dont own you but you own us a SERVICE when we step in any time any moment.

we can be complainin about them all day but at the end of the day, they're thinking: "where the hell else can you find the stuff we offer?"

so eventually, who's buying form them? i'm sure 80% of us have bought stuff from them somehow. and some of us are still GASSING for the stuff over there.

It's simply Monopoly. what can we do?

True.

Simple man. Just buy online or go to guitar 77. The selection swee lee carry is a joke anyway. Don't ever have to step into that place filled up with juvenile rockstars dreamers 'service' staffs.

Wallet check:
Cash - ready
credit cards - all present
Nets Cards - still in wallet

Drove down to Swee Lee Sims Drive for an impulse buy.

Reality Check:
Attitude - SUCKS
Staffs' faces - Black as Charcoal
Service - non-existent, had to go and ask for service TWICE! (Customer service guy actually walked away)
Treatment - treated like dirt
Price tags - missing like how my socks go missing.
My impression of staff - "Please dont bother me attitude"
Asking for price of products - As reluctant as going to in-camp training.

My action:
Walked out. Even if i bought a guitar, i will not be happy.
Mood soured.

Swee Lee: Thank you for helping me save money.

I will never go there again.

To be honest, i dont think their core business is selling products to buyers like us.
(as in non-bulk purchases)

Good thing SV can order my Ibanezs or me :D

Seriously, those staff sure got attitude problem. Or is it a Singaporean thing. Sheesh! And worse thing is, they do not take note of customer feedback, and keep things the way they are. Luckily other than Ibanez, I do not have any brands of equipment I buy from Swee Lee.
