That Jim Root tele looks awesome! Have you played a normal tele before? Does it have that tele tone? Am just curious cos it has EMGs in it....

I've played a John 5 tele my friend used to own and it still sounded like one despite having 3 high output humbuckers in it.

i once owned the j5 tele for a while and found it rather disastrous. The jim root is smth i have to try!~ Looks better not be deceiving!

Anyway Nabeel bro next time want me post smth let me know hahaha. Ive posted all i have :)

i paste the same sticker in between the pickups of my iceman..
omg this feels so weird that you actually did the same thing as me

nice, dudelove. care to share the price? i've heard of these coiled cables, and that they're inherently bassy. what's your take? i may want to get one in the near future.

the price can be found on their website. its 99bucks.

coil cables were used alot in the 60s and early 70s. hence the name retro.

i got these simply because i believe in "you get what you pay for". and, i've switched to coil cables due to the fact the area where i put my pedalboard and amp is packed full of wires and cable. the cable, being coiled, will not get tangled, and its really neat. i dont really like the orange colour of it though, it attracts unnecessary attention.

as for tone, no, coil cables are not bassy. generally, all coiley cables attenuate the highs due to the vast amounts of copper used. compressed, the cables measures nicely abt 7,8ft? when fully stretched and extended, it can easily reach 35ft. lava advertises the retro coil as 25ft. coiley cables seem to be making a comeback for some reason. i owned a vox vintage coiley and it crapped out on me. the retro coil does muffle the highs a bit. enough to be noticeable when i compared it to my planetwaves cable. also, it seems like theres a mid bump from what i'm hearing. not very impressed with it tone wise, but i really do hope it will last a long long time. i wouldnt recommend a coiley cable if u're super anal abt tone. get the lava ELC. i wanted that but couldnt stand the thought of it tangling up like mad.

try the bullet cable aka gearmandude cable. its cheaper, but it cant be found locally.

Well, let's see..

My custom red Strat. Most of u guys might recall me posting HSH superstrat pics here..well, I've decided to convert it to traditional SSS pickup config. Consists of Tesla VR1 pickup set, great for vintage all-round Strat tone. :)

My red flame top Rally Les Paul. Fitted with Stan Hinesley Kashmir humbuckers. Funny thing is, the SH pickups were actually meant for my Strat while it was still in HSH config. When I decided to switch to SSS on my Strat, I was wondering what to do with my SH pickups. I really liked the deep, thick, warm sound of a set neck mahagony guitar with humbuckers and was gunning for a PRS SE but couldn't afford it for the time being so I decided to go for something cheap. And this Rally was the one. The pickups on the Rally sound surprisingly good for a China copy and I didn't see the need to change them but since I already ordered my SH pickups, it would be a waste if I don`t give them a try.

Had this Rally undergo a makeover today with pickup change, orange drops mod, and push-pull wiring. Well, it sounds like a million bucks! The SH pickups sound really vintage and clarity is superb in clean and distortion modes. Sustains like mad! And the push-pull wiring gives a great single coil sound and when in split mode with both pickups on clean mode, it sounds almost like a piezo acoustic quality. I dunno how Stan does it but it sounds magic. Had to wait for 3mths for the pickups to arrive but its worth it. I should thank Goose and Ized for introducing me to the man who makes this pickups. ;)

i'm on a hunt for the perfect PAF for my les paul.

U want the perfect PAF humbucking sound? I dare to say...get the Kashmirs! Great for playing classic old school rock. The Alnico II magnets sound really warm and clarity is great :)

i'm actually thinking of t-tops

alnico V instead of II. and lower output. i like my neck pickup more to the bright side rather than warm. still considering though..

thats why i'm seriously considering highorder pickups. i can discuss with jeff at highorder on what kinda tone i'm hoping to achieve and he should be able to help me out.
