seventheaven

mwahahahah, yes bro! I remember, our combo moves were too powerful at that point

There is another studio that offers this amp but that piece of junk has tantrums ....shuts down by itself and turns on by itself ....as if like it hated me...:~
Pathein would know about this.....

Btw Ized, tell us more about your guitar.... buddy....

Haha serious ah.....but that amp seemed pretty ok leh....it took the seventheaven wayyy better than that Vox AC 15 i tried at ebenex the last time! Maybe that amp you all heard is posessed...

I'm using a CIJ 57 strat......alder bodied with full maple neck configuration and fender texas specials pups on the neck and middle, dimarzio fast track 2 in the bridge. It seems the seventh is taking a liking to the fast track 2....it insanely chugs whenever i switch.

There aint many studio tt have toneblaster head huh? :D

Btw, the vox ac just cant take any pedal.. any solid state amp could win over that ac when it comes to accepting pedals.. i hope it's not just me experiencing this. :)

Well as a fellow AC owner i do agree that it doesnt really like high gain pedals that much......but as for modulation and time base effects on clean, i think its one of the best i have heard so far.......no regrets!

The reason why the AC dosent take high gain dirt pedals well cos it breaks up easily as it does not have alot of headroom. It does the slightly gritty clean thing going well though. A mild od to further push a AC is Brian May heaven. unfortunately not Seventheaven

Ah....fourtones does have one yes...i forgot! I think i've used it before, but i only remember using the Randall head there........cos the jack was half faulty and cannot plug in all the way!

The toneblaster head and cab i used was at stonejamz btw. The cleans were kinda flat and sterile i remembered, cos i tried switching off the seventheaven for cleans...sounded like shit  so i simply left it on and rolled down my guitar's volume knob and it sounded much better :D

alright here it is. got my Seventheaven and i feel its an amp in a box. yes yes yes its transistor, but for the fact it actually is a pedal, this stompbox is brilliant. goose truly has outdone himself. obviously a fan of TOOL, the seventheaven dials out 80% of that tone. from the low gain to the high gain, its has impressed. you can just plug play and be happy, but.... take the time to explore ALL the knobs and youll be surprised at what you get. from a marshall to mainly a Bogner XTC. if you're looking for chunky rhythm sounds this is it.. if youre in to the tight in your face, get an amp. with the Seventheaven, the option of boosting an od in for a heavier Lamb of God crunch is available. the pedal itself has a boost that actually works unlike many so called boosts. i have tried this through many different kinds of amps and yes, i am a very satisfied customer. the wait was reasonable and the product , stunning. those still in the waiting list, be patient. money very well spent. if you take it home and take a strum and youre not happy, take some time to tweak it, i dont see how anyone can be dissatisfied with this Gsonique creation (unless youre looking for massive massive high gain)

I have spent a few days with this pedal...so this is still a very early review.....

I havent tweaked the pedal too much...why you say? cos the marshall sound i am getting out of this is absolutely beautiful....its my favourite marshall sound so far..... the kinda nasty non-distinguished rock tone that i;ve been looking for....(some settings give me a hint of an SLP and other settings of a JTM 45).most marshall pedals try for a compressed version of the van halen tone...this one does not go in that direction.....lotsa balls in this pedal....great crunch as well.....whats surprising...is that the crunch is available at lower gain levels...which is brilliant....

most pedals in the marshall category...get the crunch only when the gain is turned up....and u lose some pick sensitivity in this process....glad the seventh can get crunch at lower levels......

Another common issue that i noticed with the 'pick sensitive' pedals...is that they are just 'sensitive' and not pick sensitive....what i mean is that most pedals do give the additional gain and sustain when you pick harder but immediately drop off.....the 2 pedals that i tried that keep some of the sustain and trail off the gain slower are the honey bee(very low gain) and the seventheaven....this is probably my favourite part about the pedal.....i dont need another pedal to boost these for good sustain......just good left hand right hand co-ordination:)

Although many in this thread have commented about this pedal doing metal...i dont really see that happening....this does the tool sounds better(which is by no means typical metal tone)....probably would need another pedal to boost it for metal....

And althought the impression is that this pedal is a high gain pedal..i have found some great low gain tones on this baby....(which ilike more than the high gain tone)....

PPL...

Post your favourite settings into a clean amp!!!

Metal is more about technique, the way you pick and so on....a ts type pedal in front of the seventheaven will surely help you in getting that "tone" a long way but i'll did rather not....just pick harder! After all, most of us are used to playing those lame metal opamp based pedals with literally no mids and while the low end is tight, it isnt exactly a pleasant sounding pedal when played live and loud.....buzzsaw into tincan metalzone anyone?

Btw i play pantera....used it for a jam playing cemetery gates! Kicked in the ts in front of it only for leads.

would love to try out your settings actually....

I tried to push it with a timmy....but it didnt do it well.....

As much as metal is about technique....you cannot play lamb of god with the bass response that tool uses....the bass is very strong on the 7th....too strong for pantera(studio not live tone) and LOG....f

i will definitely try it with a TS though....

ps. i believe you cant get great metal tone with a pedal...you need a good metal amp( METAL =SOLIDSTATE METAL AMP)...SCREW THE TUBES....haha

thats the main problem with all these boutique pedals...loose or flabby low end.... which is why i've kept my ts9dx after all this while despite experimenting with all these booteek pedals...the 7th has a very strong low end presence...which i dint like while playing at bedroom levels...but take it out to the studio and jam with it...with a full band and you'll realise why goose made it to sound that way. My ts9dx is also modded by goose btw, its specifically modded to goose the 7th, only had that mod done after i got the seventheaven.

I keep my bass at 9 o'clock btw...at bedroom levels. at jamming volumes its usually around 2.

at jamming studio volumes, its easier to get that pantera crunch without using the ts....cos a cranked up amp produces natural compression....naturally tightening up things. thats the reason why most opamp based pedals sound good at low volumes and at high volumes, different story....And you probably have to bring down the treble slightly if you play thru a solid state amp...

ah that makes some more sense...dont get me wrong...I'm not criticizing the 7th...from my post it should be quite evident how much i like it....but from the sounds i have heard YET...i would not use it for tight metal riffs....I would use it for hard rock...maybe 80s rock....also tool, perfect circle

Exactly why i need settings!!! :D hehe

i would love to try this with a TS9....sounds very interesting....

ps.all my observations are at well above bed room levels...think 70% of jamming level.....but my amp is still a small gries 5 set clean....pretty loud though....i want to try this through a high headroom amp sometime....it sounded killer through goose's amp!!
