Ok stop thinkin about it already ya .... i will help you with this....maybe a simple rearranging of pedal board.
In the meantime focus on your upcomin gig :)

This saturday couple of bands using 7th will be playin live...wanna come ?

haha i've faced the same problem with true bypass loopers also....the hum was killing and when i took it out...dead quiet! i got it done by a certain dude whom i shall not name.....maybe you should do loopers too Goose! then add mods like volume and feedback too....

Oh no... you too :???:

wow shreddy... new word i has learnt today! tubular... like Mike Oldfield's tubular balls?

No leh... that term existed since Satriani introduced the PAF Joe humbucker. I thought it was more easily understood than saying the thing sounds "musically loose", "flabby but not muddy", "naturally saggy", etc etc.

This saturday I got a rehearsal for that upcoming gig.

Will be using the DMM for the first time - let's see how this thing fares LOUD.

Btw, that BamBasic pedal DROPPED IN!!!!!

I must complain.

I did not get WHITE knobs. I got orange and grey.

Very unhappy.

Of course I have not played the pedal but I'm sure since it has the WRONG knobs, it must suck. In fact, the different knobs suckify the pedal I think.

I'm a believer in aesthetics for tonal satisfaction.

Get the rat on 18V and say bye bye to dyna reb !!

Super underatted and the builder is very nice fella who hides nothing !!

wow i spy some big mojo caps in the pedal! isit like the ones you showed me that are in the 7th Goose?

Its nice. Its very nice. 1 x Silicon transistor and some diodes stuff - just like a Trotsky and that's about all the similarities. 9v pumped internally to 18v. It sounds pretty big and jangly. I think its pretty good. Not bad at all.

I see a brown 3pdt switch ... that has gold contacts. Wow. The wiring looks like the pictures Goose has posted.

It was a plug and play - true test of every piece of gear right?

However, I'm not very keen on yakking about awesome gear on SOFT sometimes, and this happened to be one of those times. Secondly, for those who understand what having a silicon transistor means and stuff... the picture is there, easy peasy. I even mentioned the closest sounding pedal - a Trotsky Overdrive. Third, I really find great delight in seeing how builders, makers, tweakers spend the time and effort on their work. Its like a good old hawker who makes good food because he loves it... Sound aside, I would like to have a neat and tidy circuit - easier to maintain & repair, probably means quality and most of all - it shows effort on the builder's side.

I couldn't be bothered with cloners who stuff together a Tubescreamer on a piece of breadboard and then call it their masterpiece. Only 299.99USD.

If anyone would like to know more - they can always PM. Otherwise, I'd prefer to introduce budget level gear on SOFT because the majority of SOFTies are kids. Makes sense right? And its better than reviewing a $250 pedal only to have someone come up and say their DS1 rox it better.

agreed Shred, i for one cant stand a DS-1 though......TS....bah...so many clones on the market......So how does it stack up against say, a openhaus or the seventheaven? tried stacking with other pedals? would like to know how this pedal performs when used in conjunction with other dirt pedals.

hehe, awesome gear, after few months, can be for sale. If iam the gear, i be weeping in a korner

That is true. That why it actually takes time to bond with stuff... and let the hype die.

On the other hand, I've had my awesome recommendations given, only to have the person not find the piece of gear so suitable for himself. Then he blames me. Curious behaviour.

We gotta start a new thread for this.

But I must say that in the first place, that NuPlex Overdrive is circuit-wise totally different from the Openhaus and 7th. It only has 1 transistor! Options of no diodes, a silicon diode and a very cool germ diode. That's it. It's very much a zhng-ed Trotsky drive.

Anyway, tmr is rehearsal, I'll feedback abt it.

sidetracking a little.

will running your pedal at 18v decrease the lifespan of whatever chips are inside since you are pushing it to the max?

those ics, transistor, caps etc all have their voltage rating. Can be found in its spec data if anyone interested

for ics and transistors, they can be run at higher voltage then 9v or 18v. So shouldnt be a problem. Some of this ic/tranny are also used in synth circuit that run at +/- voltage which add up to 24v, 36v or more.

For caps, makers often used those with voltage rating bout 3 to 4 times or even more than the voltage used to power up the pedal itself, so most of the time, we are safe.

Only problem that might arise is when using AC supply on dc supply pedals.
