seventheaven

Hi goose, just wondering if the boost switch is engaged and i have a clean boost engaged as well before the 7heaven.....will it be ok? will it fry the circuit or create unwanted noises?

Im using a true-bypassed ts9dx (modded by goose himself of course) to goose the front end of my seventheaven. No problems at all.

Yes you can ... as i know most you fellas love yout TS and your EMG's ;)

As for noise...the seventheaven does not 'create' unwanted noise but as the gain is soup'd up ...expect feedback. No worries as this can be mellowed with guitar volume rolled back. ...i love playin with feedback :D

I used a guitar with EMG singles and an 81.

I cannot stand the 81 but it surely does the Metal thing to a tee. Just that picking softly, doesn't matter, the output remains the same. Sheesh.

Oh.

About using EMGs with the 7th...

I get metal alright. Pure unadulterated metal-ness. The tone is heavy and pretty tight. Surprisingly warm* though.

* Note that my 7th has been tweaked to my preferences - so "surprisingly warm" might not apply to all.

I gots a few 'unmastered soon to release' recorded material that sounds warm ass without your 'surprisinly warm' mod cow. ;) he he

Btw your pups in already?
Hey.. load emg's on your other ....how?

Pure unadulterated metal-ness

Hahaha, I should qualify that I was running the EMG-equipped guitar into the 7th into a solid state amp.

I have the Air Norton Ss in but Stan's taking some time winding the Viper. I suddenly can do all the "wicked" legato nonsense I've been struggling to do. Maybe it was all due to (mal)practice. Can't wait to have the old favourite in again.

The other guitar? Actually, just leave it stock lah. I mean, gotta have some street cred ya know? Show the world I can play with el'cheapo stock stuff... how else do you earn street cred?!?

As for "pure unadultered metal bliss"... the person listening to it now wants a 7th.

Viper....i still got the early mojo of yours:mrgreen:

I find ther 13k winding just wicked ...just tat a wee bit 'excusable' noise:cool:

haha well shred....a certain person dint like the seventh at all when he heard you play it.....but he's now throwing out his box of metal after me a/b-ed and rocked the seventheaven at his house!

well thats true....he wasnt into virtuoso doodling. he just wanted a straight up rock and roll sound with that required clarity. All i simply did was tweak the seventh and banged out a few solid rock riffs-think Scorpion's Rock You Like A Hurricane, big open saturated rock arena sound and he was instantly sold.

i wasn't blown away by it , i just got a sound that i liked from it thats all . If you ask me i'll stick to my theory of amp heads for the moment . To each his own , i know you love that pedal to death and no doubt it is quality stuff but i'll keep an open mind approach to anything and everything for now.

haha yes zax we all know you love gibson guitars and of course a certain 100W tube amp head. But do you actually own one? and when that day comes that you actually do, i doubt that cranking one up in the comfort of your own home is, well lets just put it this way, hardly comforting. I believe in the same theory thing as you but till i get the luxury of owning my dream combo of a bogner and a soldano amp this is the next best thing. And even then i'll still keep my seventheaven for getting the "cranked amp" sound at a level that i know that at least my family(and the neighbours and police)can still tolerate when im not playing at gigs.

Part of getting the best sound out of your gear is also the essence of understanding how gear actually works. Its also great to know also that at least you'r also keeping an open mind to new things, cos you will only stand to gain from it in the long run. Cheers to that bro.

p.s don curse me with "death" la! trying to say i going to seventheaven early isit :lol:8) me no love sickness ok!

No I do not own a certain 100 watt amp , do you? but i know i will next year and when i do , I'll have loads to do with that money i earn sailing(and its seriously hard earned cash) hahaha and one of my channels is gear gassing. Also every guitarist has to have a brand and model he likes , of course i consider others but at the end of the day , to each his own.

Ized we all know you love that seventh heaven , it's the same way i love my les pauls man so chill .

its not so much about who loves what or what man....you got $$$ and the best gear also no use....whats the point if you dont even understand the basics of owning such an amp and getting a nice sound and of course, the issue of practicality in the context I've discussed....its simple logic and economics my friend.

And please note that this is a Seventheaven thread....not some thread for you to discuss on which amp or guitar you wish to get. You can save that for the gear gallery section.

now BACK to pedal discussion.
