U know ROY? I tested his strat. The cream colored one right? He loves very bright stuff but, cool strat none the less.

That is a beautiful work Apot Red, where you learn how to paint like that?
I like Faekildare's fabric too, got spare left? I also want to paste mine.. hehe

The guitar was built with the help of my friend from the Philippines who knows a good luthier there. My concept was inspired by Fender Custom Shop's La Cabronita and TGP's Southern Ill Guitars. I've always wanted a contoured Esquire but it's just impossible to find one unless you order online and they usually are very expensive. I also requested for as minimal lacquer as possible because I already got used to my Edwards SRV Relic Strat's broken-in neck. The half-guard was also fabricated by him but was actually just meant to be temporary that's why it doesn't have screws yet. It is being held by non-marking double-sided tapes for now.

The "traffic light" 12th fret markers are now covered by 3 blue inlay stickers(will probably have them changed to a suitable block marker when I find a luthier who can do it here). I forgot to cancel that design when the luthier was building the neck.(Yeah, I know, what was I thinking back then). It was suppose to have a theme of a hot rod car(racing stripes, dice knobs, etc.) but I ditched the idea later on but forgot about that 12th fret.

I may still change the rear cover for the electronics as he was actually suppose to make a better version of it but I can't already wait.

Overall, I'm very happy with the result as the luthier managed to get at least 95% of my expectations. : )

Good morning everyone, major weekend operation? a new soft look!
I have an idea for PGOTM trophy, try to work out on the design soon...
ok cool entries so far so good & hope to see it gets hotter by weekend

faekildare:
Thanks but on 2nd thought I don't think I know how to paste fabric on guitar..
Maybe its just me but I think it looked nicer in satin finish without the shiny lacquer

edgie: wood rear cover would be cool & maybe customize the neck plate too?
opt for a thicker one with edgie engraved perhaps? it is nice as it is, just imh observation

:p

I've been reading this thread with much interest but haven't really participated. Not a new project though, but seeing as there are a lot of teles for this month, will throw mine in as well =) (Partially because eieio's tobacco sunburst tele reminded me of mine also haha)

Btw eieio, go tortoiseshell for the pickguard! pick a more vibrant/less muted piece and the combination is gorgeous. But since a picture speaks a thousand words, I'll let my tele do the talking!

Parts from Warmoth/USACG, GFS pickups!

And the undisputed center attraction, the unfinished indian rosewood neck

I'm thinking of changing the vintage saddles to the graphtech stainless steel ones with the graphite inserts though, but they don't seem to have a set for the larger vintage string spread...

:p

My initial plan was to have wood covers, pickguards, etc. But the guitar would be heavier since they would have to be thicker so I scrapped the plan. Engraving it with my name would be too narcissitic. haha.

Nice, is it an alder body? with maple top?
What made you decide to get this particular neck?
Since its all rosewood, any decision made based on tone wise?

Mine should be on the way, got no idea what ebony neck is going to sound like..
What body wood to compliment with ebony neck? ash? alder? maple? mahogany?
or should I be looking at other hollow body type? all this wood & tone is making me dizzy!

:p
