The deconstruction & reconstruction of Yamaha AES620.
Choice of turquoise polka dots design on black background theme is subjective however,
in short few posts as explained by cruxgod, almost revealing an extreme 9mth thought process:

1. a very bold concept in refinishing, by removing "beautiful" flame top veneer(who in right frame of mind would do that?)
2. experimenting & integrating of brass base block from early Ibanez old tech design into new(exploring tone/sustain improvement?)
3. custom alu metal guard(a challenging attempt to retrofit to existing parts position & dimension for eg. bridge/ferrules/knobs/switch?)

Yamaha AES620, Polka paint job finish
Flame veneer removed, Custom metal aluminum pick guard
Manlius n Bill Lawrence, Grover tuners, Wilkinson roller bridge + brass block & nut

Well done cruxgod!

eieio, very interesting observations. Maybe we can hear it from cruxgod... Were you out of your mind to remove a 'factory finished, book matched, flamed maple top' on your guitar or was it an accident?

thanks for the nomination..well the last time i chk i was still sane.hhha. guess it was a sum of parts of features that i wld like to have...
initially i tot the yamaha aes has a 'true' flamed top',so when i got sand some paper to try n remove the lacquer, shit , i then realised its not. so i had to use a lighter n paint scrapper to slowly remove all of it. anyway i think the fake thingy didnt do much on the tone...

i like the gree n black combi...(subjective i know...worst it seems like a giant watermelon)..
the brass block was a experiment to try to see if a heavier mass will increase resonance...

the last bit of jigsaw was the metal pickguard...inspired by zemaitis guitars s22....

overall was trial n error.....one thing for sure is that the resale value is out of the window but as least i got a unique lovelovelovelovelove now......try it to believe....

already got 1st one? hmm tongkat ali kopi is power.. best!

it look more like fat bottom girl to me more than a giant watermelon..

yes one & only is unique, all guitars showcased in PGOTM valuation go up automatic...
