Problems in the MRT

i kinda get annoyed... when old aunties push ppl, crowd at the door b4 ppl can alight and rush for seats like mad... they are old, but that dosent give them the right to cause inconvenience or endanger others. i almost tripped at the gap last time when an old chinese auntie shoved me in her rush for seats. -.-

I usually just say "For goodness' sake, stop fckin' pushing already."

Do that or just say anything, it helps.

well i always give up my seat to those who needs it more, unless im really really tired from a hard days work.

but i stil remember there was a time, i was kinda feeling dizzy. i saw this old granny.
i gave up my seat to you. turns out everyone that was close to her moved away. even those siting next to her.

it seems that she smelled really bad.
bad move on my part?

you guys know that in mrt cannot smoke rite. ok steady, twice i was in tampines mrt rite diff uncle lah, i dunno if they too old bochup already or just not informed or wat, but went up n took out a stick n started lighting up n puff puff. steady lah UNCLE! wanted to join him but no balls lah me, too expensive scared kena fine. i rem one smoke dunhill reds the other smoke camel. ah pek brands steady.

ermm I think the FINES in mrt stations and trains are not usually fiercely upheld? I think they work quite leniently and for most cases it works... I mean once I forgot and i brought a drink into the control station area (where it already said fine 500 dollahs) and the staff just politely and nicely reminded me of the rule. They could have been bored and hauled me in and grilled me to pay a $500 fine which I won't have.

but i guess smoking is a bit too far fetched, haha

also i find that got alot of ppl here kena the ppl ask them for seat kinda thing but i never kena b4, also on train or bus i find ppl tend to fill up all other seats 1st then maybe someone no choice then come n seat beside me. sob sob... something wrong with me? i also hate it when i on the train using my laptop then confirm got some uncle will come next to me n like look at what i am doing on the laptop... wth??? mountain tortoise rite.. and its not like one look that kind like stare at my screen head all turn over that kind. awkward. well most times i just turn over n say kuah simi??? or stare at them. then they stop...

wah the last wierd mrt trip i remember was seeing a drunken guy slping on the seats.he filled up almost 3 seats and nobody dared to get close to him.in total 5 seats wasted.he was like that through out the trip till the train terminated at jurong east.

haha i think it would be really outrageous (not to mention awkward) if a pregnant or elderly commuter were to demand for that seat to be given up! first of all, no person is socially higher up to rightfully claim a particular seat as theirs. it all runs down to morals & ethics. which is why it is more embarrassing to get scolded by an old lady for not giving up your seat than getting fined for speeding or whatnot (at least i think so).

haha, oh well. it takes alot of patience to be able to put up with such behaviours.

but then again welcome to singapore! thats pretty much it here.
*applause*
to those who have been tolerating all these behaviour up to date

Thus why I always try to get free ride from my Dad. Can't stand those demanding aunties who looks like they paid a million bucks for the seat. I've always seen people crowding the entrance everytime the train comes and I'm like what the hell, how's people going to come out?! I'll never understand what they're thinking. They're just asking to be pushed in the shoulder by rushing against those coming in/out.

Luckily for me, people I give my seats to are nice ladies. Once this auntie was nice enough to offer me back a seat when the one beside her was empty! I felt so touched, but I just smiled and declined since I've only 3 stops left. Other times, I don't offer my seat since my buses are always often not packed like sardines.

One time I was on the train standing behind this bunch of guys with instruments, prolly a band lah. Was quite crowded since it was around evening time like that, so quite packed lor. But then when the train reached bugis, the bassist in front of me turned to alight, and his bass went WHAM into the side of my face. Sia la the bugger didn't even notice or apologize. :(

As for the problem of people blocking the door, an excellent trick my friend taught me was to sing loudly when you can't get out,

"We are Singapore, We are singapore, we will stand together and we'll block the door."

Amazingly useful!

LOL! That was funny!

And it's amazingly true that a lot of Singaporeans do not know how to move into the center of the carriage! And as always, the door is always @#&%! blocked and the center always has ample space for at least half a dozen of people.

It's really "what-the-****" at times.
