hey ized. they certainly are the shit. i finally understood what "woody" tone means. i nvr understood it when ppl mentioned it and i cant explain it in words. my les paul is a different animal now after the swap. the bridge and middle position tones are my favourite. they just have this honk to it which is what i really really want. middle position is even honkier. definitely can fool ppl into thinking my guitar is out of phase. i'm just not so pleased with the neck pickup. its a little bit on the bassy side. i have a feeling removing the cover might solve it. but it's going to make my guitar look damn wierd. what i do is i set up everything very very bright. amp and effects. and the neck pickup will sound good. and i just lower the tone on my bridge to abt 4 or 5.

i believe my guitar wouldnt sound this good without the RS pots. those things are amazing. coupled with 50s wiring its crazy. every single number from 1-10 is useable. the custom taper really really is genious. i cant stop fiddling with my volume knob now.

Nice dude. I got one for Goose too and while he initally said the pickup sounded dark at first he was totally blown away with the big fat tone he got when jamming at loud volumes. My guitar is naturally bright so for me its a different story though, but my delight was how well the pickups responded at loud volumes and the way they cut through the mix - nice, defined and very well-balanced in terms of EQ. I find that the dark sound at lower volumes evens out nicely when you push the amp. Some boutique pickups I wont name tend to either be too bright which becomes overly ice picky or have too much mids that get oversaturated and muddy.

RS pots were also recommended to me by Goose but I was lazy and bought dimarzio pots instead... My guitar actually became brighter but I like the smooth linear taper of dimarzios.

Heheh... My RS Premium Pre-wired kits for both my Les Pauls are arriving soon. They said that their 500k superpots don't need treble bleed circuits.

Do you find this is so?

Yes! Pair it up with 50's style wiring. There is NO loss of highs at all when the volume knob is rolled down. Even at 1 or 2.

Btw, did you order the vintage or modern wiring kit?

^ Brilliant guitar. I play a Bourbonburst 58 VOS myself, and it is by far the best LP I've tried. Very nice :) What happened to your pickup selector switch tip though? Also, time to get RS pots/caps!
