hi folks,

recent acquisitions (blackstar ht5 and marshall 1936 cab) and an updated family shot.

must say the blacstar is impressive. was even more impressed by the emulated speaker outputs. recorded a little clip using the line out 4x12 option direct to soundcard and converted to mp3. no further processing was done. can check it out here if you want. if you are looking for a small practice amp, this is it! :) gonna hook it up to my cab next to check it out. heh.

wah nice! what are those?

I love my manlius pickups on my LP too!

They're custom models bro, not part of the usual strat offering. According to michael, these are 35% hotter than the chicago blues strat set, and also thicker sounding. Can't wait to install them later!

jms / groovymusic: thanks bros! got the ht5 combo from woodworkz at $599. can't stop enjoying the dirt channel. ISF feature is really useful!cheers

nice R7 Hyde, congrats! welcome to the historic goldie club :D

here is 'Eowyn', my 2001 R7 Darkback, 7.9 pounds unchambered, WCR Darkburst pickups

Very nice! and its light!
mine is 9lbs, the sustain is crazy though

how are the WCR pick ups compared to the burstbuckers?

Thinking of upgrading the pups and electronics when i am more familiar with it.

another thing is, the nitro smell is very strong!

i was just lucky with the weight, bought it used, sight unseen from japan, i think it was a Yamano piece.

mine was a 2001, so it came with 57 Classics instead of Burstbuckers. they were sweet and airy, but i wanted something more aggressive - the Darkbursts are fiercer sounding but are not over the top, they're still in vintage territory. very responsive and clear, too.

Listen to the song 'Circles' and 'Falling' on the music player at the facebook link in my sig, that's the Darkbursts on both rhythm and lead tracks.

since yours is very recent, it should already have good pots and caps. Have fun, the R7 is basically an R9 with a painted top. ;)

haha, i doubt its a R9 with a painted top. I looked at the control cavity, no flame.
