This guitar is almost 20 years old and it still looks sweet...

Very nice dy there! Dude you better hunt down a LNG to keep it accompany!

Yup, its a Jem777DY. LNG and SK are really nice but these are quite hard to find now. Ibanez should re-issue some of these gems of yester-years.

They will one day. I dont think they got the environment issue doing those fluoro color now. Look at the 20th rg reissue. If Vai give the nod, they will produce. But not cheap.

wow love the colours and inlays. dammnnn where was i 20 years ago?

hahaha. ok how about mine?

just got this back last week. brought it to guitar workshop to install a wilkinson whammy. say its freaking awesome and stable haha. i only remember theres like 4 occasions where it went out of tune. and i do violent whammies most of the time.

its got a seymour duncan distortion bridge pup. 5 way switch, could get alot of tones from it, love it bebb. and a split toggle switch, originally was a killswitch but i found a substitute which was an on-off switch of a planet waves cable.

Love the art on the guitar body.

I've always thought of having a Tele with a tremolo / whammy bar, but still keeping the single coil tele bridge pickup. Was there lots of digging on the guitar body to install it?

Do consider changing your metal saddles to graphtechs if you want tuning stability and less instances of string breakage.

thanks joshuak. haha

oo why not? i know tremking has a tele-style bridge, but you gotta order it. haha. check that one out, u can yank and dive the bridge.

from what i see, the routing isnt really big. its about 13 cm in length, 8 cm in width. i still got the same tone and sustain in my guitar, if not, it got better. haha

hmm interesting, what do you recommend?

do guitarworkshop oso help people to drill holes for licensed floyd rose and install it? (plus the locking nut)
yeap man. they do it at $125 with routing and $60 for the locking nut. not sure if its the correct price, says in the receipt haha.

you should bring it to them haha. they really did a great job in mine. haha they even fixed up the guitar's wiring.

oh ya got a question, would the stability be affected if i were to make it able to do pull-ups instead of just dives?

that's damn good man! because i diy my guitar until like shit... maybe will bring my yamaha to them and change my pickups too... haha thsanks!

Beautiful guitar you have there!! :D

I remember the 1st time i saw the Lime Green at Swee Lee Plaza Singapura when it 1st came out. My jaw dropped at how beautiful it looked.. And there's Vai's signature at the trem-plate at the back too!!

I love the inlays.. and the colour scheme of the 3 fluorescent ones, with the colour in the claw-cavity too.. ;)

Ya man... Talking about Swee Lee Plaza Singapura, it also the first time I saw the Jem FP. Only can drool but cannot buy. That place is so damn cram and the staff there usually provides the most crappy service... Comparatively, Yamaha Combo Shop is like so much more friendly to customers. Those were the days... ha ha...

rangers158,

wow, nice jem you got there. btw, did you even play it? the condition of the bridge is unbelievable. how did you keep it so well?

wierd....i use sliver nitrate to remove stains...not to get stained by it,and isn't it suppose to be transparent?

usually i use hydrogen peroxide + potassium manganate(acidified) = colourless solution, then i add silver nitrate, where there would be white precipitate.then i use that solution ro remove stains.
