all upstroke is damn hard to do, but it does have a unique sound... i used it for that Slinky Pinky song of mine... for the rhythm... simple one mind you. :lol:

But if Mustaine dint leave, there wouldn't be Megadeth to begin with.....speed/thrash metal to challenge Metallica's pure thrash....

anyway.... what makes you true blue till now hardcore metallica fans different than us old but still true to pre Black album metallica fans?

We're still fans but of that era. And we like to bitch about post justice for all metallica.

I still get goosebumps listening to dyers eve but give me any tracks from Reload... i feel like trashing my hifi.

Metallica now to me is like Deep Purple.

And sorry, but Dave Mustaine is a pussy - just like John Petrucci.
Kirk rapes them both, i dont think anyone can deny that. He and James had a magical bond that produced, and still produce the sound of Metallica.

Just a thought, who knows what Metallica would have been with Alexi Laiho?

Metallica is in me forever, as well as on my skin forever. However, Kirk does not touch John as a guitarist...
 
huh why is petrucci a pussy?

i am not sure whether kirk or james write most of the riffs (which are very good), but i feel that kirk's fast solos are not very nice sounding :(

As much as I am not a fan of JP, I think... yeah, you don't really know what you are talking about.

Kirk's auto wah and pretty boring solos... I dunno, it doesn't impress me as much as JP.
 
Heck, let's not talk about JP, Kirk can't play as good as Mustaine. How is Mustaine a pussy? He formed an entirely new band that was, if not better than, equal to Metallica in many ways. Try hearing the 2nd part of the Lucretia solo by Mustaine, it blows me away. But oh well, the person who wrote that probably doesn't know what the hell he's saying.
 
Kirk and Mustaine... I don't like either of their solo-ing styles.

Mustaine is ALWAYS on the pentatonic, and that slowly ascending/descending chromatic crawl around the fretboard... ugh. Too much, too much... over done liao.... though, Megadeth's latest album (System has failed) has some pretty interesting (for Mustaine) solos there!

I did like Jame's solo in Nothing Else Matters. At least the S&M version. That was emotive and very well thought out.

Kirk, I just want his auto wah. :D
