Metallica "Death Magnetic" Reviews Pls...

I shld admit tat some songs in death magnetic is so addictive tat u want to keep listening all day long haha like The Day That Never Comes etc very beautifully arranged. The riff juz keep coming and coming... But i realised tat in tis album there's alot of fast alternate picking... Man, nothing willl stop them from doin so even they commented tat its quite tiring to downpick/fast alternate pick all the way... damm r they machine or wat haha.. regardless of their age, they still rock yeah!!!

Yup, somewhat like fade to black. The drums are quite similar to fade to black during the verse.

i need to find a program to edit the songs on the album, i wanna lower the drum and cymbals volume, its too loud, my ear oso wanna burst listening to it.

but overall its all nice songs. but the day that never comes music video is full of wth?

I agree. Its alright la, quite disappointed with Kirk tho. Its like as if after listening to the pre-Black album era, he seems to have some problems coming up with more creative, out-of the box kinda solos. Just keep hearing the same old 'pentatonic/phrygian box pattern wanking + wah all over the place. The first track's solo already sounds like the solo from Whiplash.

Arrangement-wise, I would say its good ol' metallica plus an updated "nu" sound for today's kids....

xxxxxxxx

Overatted or watever opinions n thoughts it may seem.. Metallica will continue to inspire us all. if u hv been a fan since the very beginning of Metallica, u'll understand y. If u r just another young kid giving reviews about the new album, U can just eat ur socks to death.
DEATH MAGNETIC....HELL YEAH>>!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

woah tats a comment frm a metallica fan yeah u r absolutely right no matter wat they inspire us alot and kirk is my guitar idol and he is the reason y i love playing guitar hahaha

Inspiring? yes. An inspiration to learn guitar? definitely. Sock-eating? Nah.

I rather have McGriddles to eat...........McDonald's breakfast FTW!! :D

Nevertheless, the new album i must say....has been a rather bumpy ride. The song structures are interesting but the solos still sound the same. I like Jame's new Southern-inspired voice, sounds very Black Label Society....

BOB ROCK IS DEAD! WOOOOO

really really love the new album. was skeptical initially but man, was I blown away.

1 thing though. Does anyone hear the clipping in the recording? Lar's snare and cymbals... Especially bad in "My Apocalypse". well, not my cuppa tea. just my personal opinion/preference.

*laughs* if you ask me i found that this album is filled with tons of solos far lacked in their album prior to this. it's hell better than st.anger and it has more agression as compared to st.anger (so much for anger) *laughs* it's awesome. and i like!

bob rock's awesome throughout black - s & m but i just couldn't figure out why he has to kill metallica on st.anger... :( probably he got tired of working with them? *laughs*

and oh, cynaide's great!

yeah man i agree abt the bob rock era during black till S&M... but when st anger album was released i was so disappointed wif him being a producer of metallica with those therapist shit. i think he's trying to catch up wif modern rock tat kinda thing but wrong thing to do man hahaha how can he agree to st anger to be released when he knew tat metallica is famous for solos/harmony thingy etc not some "tick tock shit" and downtuning drums juz like playing in death rituals (wat wld cliff burton say abt st anger if he's still alive) hahaha no offence but

RICK RUBIN SAVED THE DAY!!! YEAH!!!

Lars drumming hasn't improved any since black album :???:

I'm a huge fan of the 1st 5 albums.

but Death Magnetic...

Has really awesome riffs, but bad songwriting hence 6.5/10 for me.

This album is over hyped.
First of all, I dont like Kirk Hammett's over usage of wah-wah and I miss the beautiful solos he has done in the past, such as in Fade to Black and Master of puppets.
It seems the songs are just "over arranged" but lacking in catchy riffs.
The good thing about the record is that it is much better the St Anger record in many ways. The
tight speed metal that Metallica was known for, is back in this record. Lars is still one of the best drummers in metal.

Overall, there is only 1 track that I enjoyed in this album (after 50X more/less of listening) is
"The day that never comes", excellent intro and vocals, but I dont dig the line "love is a 4 letter word" (james, what are you thinking?!!)

As I've said, this album is over-hyped. The only album that was released this year that I enjoyed is by Candlebox. Buy this record instead you wont be disappointed.
