Why Dave is such an ass, while James and Lars are equally bad asses and I'm sympathetic towards Jason cos the sweet guy just kept taking shit by them. What was Kirk thinking when he got the tattos and body piercings? Man at that age... Lars should shut up and stop talking. Lars should take a chill pill.

I think James lost it after the black album. James was better barking commands than singing.

I still pity Jason. The dude's seems such a cool doode. He swing his head and headbang throughout the whole show man. Jason used to complain he neck hurts.

I still think Lars talks too much.
 
Metallica? I rem someone telling me, when I was a noob, the fast palm muted sections in "One" were all played DOWNSTOKE ONLY!!!!

Yeah, JAMES use down strokes only. James is the master of riffing. Kirk on the other hand kept playing that same middle eastern phrygian mode. It was still a first then nevertheless.

I like how they write songs thats over 5 minutes and being cohesive at the same time.
 
I like epic song arrangement of their earlier albums, they are riding on their MOP success till now I guess. I find Lars irritating at times, but the guy is passionate abt wat he does I guess. Their newer stuff are pretty disapoinitn, esp St. Anger, the drums on that one sounds like Lars playing on tin cans, wat did he do to his drums tunning...

In that song, One, the rapid palm mutings... all down stroke?! Its not possible, no way.

Kirk was never my hero. :P Not only does Kirk play the same things over and over... Lars plays the same rolls, fills, and that overdone hit-cymbal-mute-with-hand thing.
 
We shall wait for their new album with RB...

All the drums are coming back...

What exactly is this thread about? Apart from giving the sheep their excuse to pull out the sold out, napster, tin can, lost his growl complaints again? Metallica is the biggest and best Metal band there will ever be.
 
I heard the new Metallica songs and hate them. They should just do a quick end while they're still respected, like the Seinfeld series. Accept it, Metallica will never produce another album like Lightning or Puppets. All these old rocker guys should just accept that their 15 mins of fame is over. The only person i still respect is Dave Mustaine though.
 
i wore white and watch them in 93. They rock so hard and it was my first concert ever.

Thats really okay... with practice its possible, as many people have done it too...

But that "ALL downstroke" clause is what irked me....
