Definitely flame. or maybe Tiger flame. Quilted is more like patches of circles lol.

yes- 'flames' are stripe-like patterns, quilt on the other hand is patch/ blotch-like in nature.

... i miss my LP Studio Lite

Thanks - it's a 60's neck - I have small hands. :)

i recently bought a 60s-profiled LP Std because it feels 'right' in my small hands. no such issues with PRS guitars though, muct be my hands... 8O

PS: am i the only one here who's indifferent to flame/ quilt tops?

My PRS is a wide-thin which suits me better. Shame this neck profile isn't available on all models, e.g. Hollowbody... :(

Re: fancy tops, I like them but I don't let that cloud my judgement on whether the thing is actually a good guitar or not, but my view is, if you're buying a good guitar as a 'keeper', and you can afford it, then why not get one that also looks impressive even if it has no contribution to the sound. :)

I tot Jo of SJS had one and he sold it... to you? or from you?

He got it off my fren (JC) who bought it from me and then sold it to some guy in M'sia .... :(

Actually Gibson should re-issue those ...no gimmicks ...just pure tone !!

messy...

Omg...that looks horrid...horrible top...they should never have produced those...eeew...

Actually the quilted top looks cool, but only when matching with a certain colour tone.

To that pearl blue.. definitely looks a bit weird :roll:

PS-> Subversion : Thats why you got a gold-top..

I'm still facinated by quilted top pattern, how on earth the wood have those patches?
