wow beast- you remember correctly... :prayer:

i used to own a Les Paul, in fact it was my 4th guitar back in 1999. i have nothing against Gibsons but the LP is just isn't my kinda guitar. i adore the Classic because of its higher output default pickups & the slimmer neck but bought the PRS McCarty instead when i finally decided to invest in a set-neck unit.

why do i intend to invest in the LP this time? if i can overcome a difficult guitar like the LP, it's a true measure of my capacity.

Erm, Whats diffcult about LP? Upper fret access?

that's one concern. others being:

*weight: heaviness impedes comfort impedes playability...
*no elbow relief/ rib-cage chamfer: despite featuring a gorgeous curved top, the LP to me is a fiend of the picking hand.

Standard has 60s neck as well. Personally, I think the Burstbuckers are much better than the 500Ts. Maybe it's also because I'm not much of a ceramic pickups kind of player.

Nowadays the non-custom shop Gibson, has weight reliefed holes. Alot of people have something against it. But I view it as a plus. Lighter guitar won't stress my back so much. In fact, the one I tried wasnt that heavy at all.
