And I think I want to add this: the ethos of this competition is not just about competing and to emerge a winner. You'll not be able to add to your portfolio that your a winner of the 1st SOFT online competition - it probably won't mean anything.
But the whole point is to encourage creativity amongst musicians, have a chance to improve as we critique and get critiqued (now where did I hear that before....). For me, I'm really keen to see what each person comes up with from the same melody. Even if I don't compete (ie if my PC is still down...), the very fact that I can listen to different interpretations of the same melody is enough to get me interested in this competition, not to mention being played by different instruments as well.
Maybe it can also help SOFT increase the already very high hit rates.
