Well that depends very much on the Japanese Yen.
I got them all from Ric Asian Network based in japan.
On the average about 3.5K each plus shipping and GST.

Ibanez Artcore - pickup upgrade?

My first post here so forgive me if its in the wrong spot.....but,
I bought an Ibanez Artcore bass awhile back and am going out right now to try flatwound strings...
my question is regarding the pick-ups that come standard...is it just me or do they suck?
...well I know I suck at bass but that's not what I mean.
- I want more bottom and more tone control. Can someone with this bass guide me in an upgrade?

I've got an Ibanez AWD83, and I'll admit I picked it almost exclusively for its looks. The neck plays like a dream, but I'm thinking of swapping out the pickups.

Wow!...Put on the flatwounds yesterday and MAN are they amazing!
Totally changed my sound, playability and that warmer bottom was there.
I may not need the new pick-ups afterall...but we'll see.

Still interested though if anyone has the Artcore bass and if they have changed out the pick-ups and what the result was.

Heh no problems at all, love to do a blues jam one day..Eric Clapton is my all time fav guitarist and his playing really got me playing the blues which is why I have a Epiphone Dot and a Fender Strat..there's definitely something appealing about those 335 hollowbodies, the looks and sounds!
