Welcome to club semi/ hollow

You guys won't believe it but this V really sounds! Plays loud acoustically too =)

The rose carvings actually create a semi-hollow-esque feel to the guitar (similar to the f-holes), despite the unconventional V shape for a SH.

Body crafted out of Aluminium.. Very pleased with it! My first (unconventional) semi-hollowy guitar.

dearxarson: yes that's a normandy guitar! its really great!

ex14: its a V. the body thickness is not like a normal SH. i wouldn't say it sounds the same per se but, acoustically, this guitar sounds louder than the normal electric guitar.. the feel is defeinitely different, since a semi hollow has a more 'conventional' (by that i mean sit-down position) shape. it definitely doesn't sound like benedetto guitars, but the pickups are really sweet when play do it clean, and they really do rock when u play it dirty with OD! if you do a search on Normandy guitars, u realise some rock/metal playing bands use normandy guitars, including their archtops.. so that should give you a rough idea of their sounds.. =)

i actually expect it to sound like a resonator ._. but den again i haven't palyed with a resonator so yea XDD

simplecomplexity;
your guit collections simply kickass..
i ride to live but i live w/ no ride ehehe,

tkadil; good one.. 'blame' it on the lightings.. hehe, thanks for 36th intro..

ok for the conservative old school ones, excuse moir for asking this another gazillion million times

my Gibson ES-135 outfitted with RS electronics, jumbo frets and lollar 50s wind p90s.

glblues; u got that 135 mojo working man...
cant really hear the audio, what amp is that, mic up?

another question, is there a fix way for hollowbody bridge?
ive read the screws facing the neck, or...? also abt the saddle,
all 6 facing 1 direction or 3 to the right & 3 to the left, any advice?

oh thats a copy of a 1950s fender tweed bandmaster. 5e7 circuit for the electric set and a pro junior for the acoustic sets.
the screws i have them facing away from the body, but i dun thk it really matters tho. after a while the strings will grind into the saddle and find their own position.
then again i use gauge 12s so it applies a little more pressure than 9s or 10s

Thx
EMGs on a hollow body?!?! Hmmm.... Not sure but how does that work?
I have read some shitty reviews on the stock pups at harmony central.
But surprisingly, I find that they are pretty good. Not sure why reviewers were complaining about the pups. But of cos if one compares these with the TV jones it's a whole different story. You get what you pay for.
:)

I love the pups. Would not change them unless it's a set of TV jones.
But if i wanted a set of TV jones, I might as well get a 6120.
Besides, the stock Gretsch Buckers look & sound great.
No reason to swap them out
:)

Bro, have you tried GFS Surf 90 pups on yr G5122? It's frigging rockabilly & surfabilly....and it cost almost 1/3 of TVJs
