Welcome to club semi/ hollow

country of origin doesnt affect that much,
just look at the new mex fenders.. way better now
my old 335 copies got the mojo too, tones ok ok can do more butter

since dot is a poor mans gibson, got to tweak a lil to get the sweet spot
once u got the right one, it'll feel right, everything will sound right, dont give up..
been eyeing on gibson, but not sure if my not so good level of playing deserve such beautiful guitars...

:(

nah for me it should be playable the moment i get it ._. call me lazy but i take it that the guitr i see in the shop whether well taken care or not to be like the benchmark for that series of guitar. The dot i saw at the BB showroom was just. unplayable. it was just out of tune, the input jack was loose, and it felt horrible, looked bad, and sounded horrible too. hence my opinion of epi dots are now that lousy made copies.

sigh. o wells.

cannot compare lah. epi and gibson leh ._. how to compare lol.

To date i have yet to play a gibby yet ._.

Wow ! eieio,

Your Old Kay is really OKAY man!!
How did you get hold of this beauty......didn't know BB played one of these.
More pics please ...please ......slurp : )...

this cort semi-hollow at swee lee katong branch caught my eyes, and oso partly because of the $2009 40% discount promo that i'm looking at guitars above $2009...
abit stupid though, but any reviews or users from cort users?
aniway i'm not so sure if that's a cort yorktown or a cort larry coryell LC-2...
but for the price range, my guess is the latter... what diff will that make?

already own a cort z-custom, dunno if that would count as a lespaul copy...
any significant difference i should experience with a semi/hollow?

tkadil, handsome la..
is that the new es based on 120 series?
how the stock MII set in jap's 145 sound before the 36th swap?

wish mine was this -

ricfreak, while i was walking down the street.. djang.. djang..... djang.. djang.... haha
okay is older than me, it was supposed to be an affordable emporium kind of guitar for the masses..

its a quite night, okay here the 'oKay' story goes-
adopted by me since '91/92, i bought it at a used guitar shop or was it a pawnshop.. when i was staying in brooklyn,
a great companion throughout my crossroads journey, from new york city through chicago, then seattle & back up north
no yukon though, wasted sunset & so a couple of years later in '94, i had the honor of meeting b.b himself thus leaving that mark...

~good night & enjoy the blues...

eieio:

Tokai names their models according to their recommended price. so the ES-120 is now the ES-145, as in 145,000 yen. same model but due to inflation, they bumped up the model number as well.

the stock Tokai MKII Vintage PAF were not so bad. sweet sounding but kinda thin. the bridge pup tended to get harsh with overdriven tones.

not handsome la... good lighting. haha...
