Superband top 18

..

its not always a fight. imho, its more of a plan.

we're too inward looking when we should have the collective balls to export our sound outside of singapore and explore scenes like HK and Taiwan.

i mean physically be there, playing in their gigs etc etc.

When I saw the judges, I say finished lah, well except for chong ching who is neutral. But I take Koh's comment about rusty nailz' arrangement, first cos he's been an arranger for a long time. I think RN should review some of their songs, rearrange (repackage) them if necessary.

By and large the comp did some good to rock bands, is to make them aware that appearance is very important too. As the judges said, if you want to choose this road, then you have to subject to the road signs that come along.

Just asking, is this competition based on viewers' votes or judges?

If it's based on viewers' votes, it's understandable that RN is out cuz well, the general public usually votes for songs that they recognise(non-originals/covers). And that's a sad fact.

Thank u for those who say kind words for RustyNailz. To be frank, I was real surprised when they kick us out.

Then after some thinking, I was not so surprised anymore.

We will probably sort for other good opportunities if there are.

Anyway, earth keeps spinning irregardless of who move to the next round

Pepper, for the last Sun Big Jam show, its 70% judges votes and 30% public votes. From next week onwards will be the other way round with judges 30% and public 70%. But strange enough, MediaCorp will never reveal the number of votes/sms to the public... 8O

i tink superband's screwed up, sort of...most, not all of e bands dun really appeal to me, except for the b2 band, forgot wad name it was...e rest couldn't really hear either e guitars or e vocalists, couldn't make out wad he/she was singing...
i rmb there was a song e lead gt was too loud, couldn't hear e rhythm, it sounded awful, overall i tink e a capella sounded nicer than e rest...

If u REALISED, the sound mix is NOT THE BAND's FAULT, BUT RATHER MEDIA COCK's fault.. omg..

Me got nothing better to do... A easier "chart" to identify the competitors...

Thanks for the enlightenment. I didn't even know how the whole thing worked. Hmm. Anyways, I think RN would definitely do better without the competition.

Well there's still Qinobe and Lucify.
I never thought I'd get worked up over this competition, but it's just so much more personal when RN and Lucify are fellow SOFTies.

i support amber, jade, lucify* and qi no be! haha.. the * one is support b4 they even join the competition ;P.. i feel that they are truly the best man.. qi no bi really gets the crowd high!

I simply cannot believe tha Rustynailz is out what crap man and seriously i think Glamour don't deserve to be there at all. These girls can't sing at all. Am really piss and sad for RN, go ahead RN show the world what you can do.

1) don't get "pissed off" "angry" and all, it's TELEVISION.

2) hardcore rockers ARE a minority in singapore. hardcore rock bands are even harder to come by. hardcore CHINESE rock bands are harder to find. hardcore chinese rock bands who ENTERED superband - not many.

3) singapore isn't the same as USA or UK, and sometimes it's not all that different too. we're not alike in the sense that hardcore rockers are few. but we're alike in the sense that the MEDIA has the POWER. and this is why our local talent searches end up this way.

GO JADE!!!!!!!!!!!!! 8)
