Superband top 18

er...for me it was opposite.
i got my cousins and friends from mainstream saying they are cool, style, whatever.

whereas those into jrock or rock and roll etc etc didnt agree likewise.

lol.. i know some JROCK ppl... who hates chinese music to the core.. so umm.. so.. lucify doesn't have their support .. hmm..

Anyway, Lucify never win also good for them. I think this competition made Lucify lost their direction. Yes. I can say it was weird for them to dress visual kei and play Mandarin pop and I was even shock when I got to know they are going to play a Taiwan Rap-Metal band Monkey Insane "Wo Men De Shi Dai" song. Coz the song doesnt suit their visual kei dressing style but anyway we never had a chance to see it. I believe Lucify will do better with their own Mandarin originals influence by their J-Rock Visual-Kei bands.

What's wrong with dressing visual kei and singing chinese songs?

Why define boundaries when you're in a competition that doesn't limit such?

JuzB are all Malays, and the lead vocalist is simply fantastic. The kind of effort he put in to prepare a Chinese song is 10, 20 times what a Chinese would do for the same song.

I'd say Lucify is breaking boundaries.

The only limitation is logical: it is a Chinese-song-based band competition, all bands need to sing Chinese songs...

Glay added English in their songs, does it sound alright? Sometimes I don't even know what Teru is singing in English until I read the lyrics...

Thats the way.. i like it! 8)

no offence but....
how about asking the bride and groom to dress in singlets and slippers
as long as they aint naked. it's ok right?

just some views
you can choose to ignore this.

Lucify: a real visual kei, j rock band?

In the elimination rounds, they tried dressing down (less outright visual kei look, more towards l'arc~en~ciel and glay and the like), but the judges didn't like that.

There is very little j rock, very little visual kei in everything they've shown up to now.

Some important things are missing; there is no DIY ethic -- I found the part of the final where they were talking to the designer of their clothes rather amusing.

Obviously you can't manage the back of your hair yourself because you can't see the back of your head, but stuff like clothing, and overall attitude?

Leaves very little room for respect, man.

The band that was presented was one who at first had control over their own image, but weren't decisive enough to hold on to it. 'Speed metal' rendition of a taiwan classic? Not exactly the best idea, or the best execution; a feeble attempt at "reasserting" their rock roots after weeks of playing down to a chinese pop audience.

Throughout they seemed really really restricted by the language and audience. They don't really seem very "visual kei" to me.

I never considered lucify to be 'visual kei' from the start; and theyve never proclaimed to be 'visual kei' either.

Anyways, +1 to your post, suspend_thought.

Yeah, its funny. To them, a little bit of makeup, long hair, and punk clothes = VK. hahaha But its singapore after all.
