seventheaven

Yo Josh ...you said in between? ..so..it's b4 or after 7th ..the volume pedal ? :)

Bro, trick question?

It's about loudness so it has to be in between the amp and the pedal. After the 7th heaven and before the amp of course.

Can turn down the volume level knob on the 7th heaven too. But everybody get sudden loud shock when go from OD to clean.

Yes ...it's the same on high gain amp too...thus a volume for each channel.

So you are running 18v?
On 12v or 9v it may not be a jump....

You can milk more clean with it's higher headroom but i guess it does not the jangle stuff.:D

Even with an SD1 i get that jump, as i milk more juice(vol) than gain so pedal always on with guitar volume knobage for me.
I rarely use a clean amp playing pedals as i find the contrast with any pedal too much.

Hey Goose, I'm on the waiting list for the seventheaven and the last sentence is making me have second thoughts. My setup usually consists of either a Strat/Tele/LP into an Epi Valve Junior, set to a pristine clean setting. I prefer to get all my dirt from pedals, and will probably upgrade to a Gries 18 in future.

I'm basically looking to use the 7th for rock/chunky distorted tones, with enough 'tightness' to palm mute while not being fizzy/flabby (my issue with the MI Audio pedals).

Would the 7th be able to do this with a totally clean tone?

What i meant was (silly me) i do not switch off pedal to get clean but i play a clean amp + pedal. ..with my volume knob rolled... dig.;)

Actually with my set up at Gworx cave with close back 4x12 (1971) cab...i got no issues...

For crying out loud can you fellas please stop comparing it to any of MI AUDIO STUFF... sHEESH..

Aha Gries....nice simple amp... ...you may need to have the amp treble bleed switchable, since the 7th or any high gain does not like it. That's meant for fellas who play cleanish stuff with that added sparkle....

Yes. I run it this way. Let's call this the "clean way".

Stock, the 7th might have issues running the clean way when on 18v. Higher voltages resulted in louder, higher output.

On 9v, its alright but Goose can tweak the pedal a little to make it a little easier to use for the clean way.

My setup has a clean and dirty loop. I use a compressor in the clean loop so that there's consistency in the volume/dynamics when switching from dirty tones to cleans. I also am using the Gries at the moment - which is a thunderous amp for pedals, as long as the bright cap is removed / made switchable. Small 15 min mod though.

Hey goose, the reference to MI Audio was to illustrate what I don't want in a pedal. I understand that pedals are different animals in themselves, but my objective criteria in tone necessitates a reference to effects that I have tried thus far.

I guess I'll really have to try the 7th in person at some point.

No worries buddy ...just tat i was getting lots of it lately ya. :)
Lots of respect to MI Audio and i actually should be glad that i am compared to them.

But No ...it does not have that wooooff as ceratin opamp tend to lean towards it.

Hey... the clip deararxon is pretty good for what it does aye.

Dude Shred dude ...15mins???!!....i need to talk to you lah !!

I think i'll probably run the seventh with a ts-9 pushing it all the time....i love the way it chugs with that setup....like when goose demo-ed it with his MIJ SD-1! I think i can get steve vai's bogner tone...when he was still using bogner amps in the first incarnation of G3.

so how Goose, when can i pick mine up ah? kinda overdue already leh

ooops
sorry goose n everyone
i forgot to mention, that the seventh for the clip i put up..
was being pushed by a tubescreamer
hahaha

Dood.

You made me doubt my setup for a moment with your clip. I was about to go home and plug in to re-check - how come I'm not getting that kind of saturation.

Geez.

Shreddy, then maybe it's time you got yourself a tubescreamer!!!!

Congrats goose, I hope to try a seventheaven some time down the road :)

Thanks Kenneth ....:)

Ized ...tonight !

Shred ...it's also the amp and speaker cab too and TS was set clean.
TS does nothing much clean ...abit of push and the 'legendary' bass cut !
