sub your thoughts on s470?

Ibanez S470- comes in 2 versions: plain top/ quilted top

plain top

quilted top

the quilted version is slightly heavier & i hear a tad more bass from it. both guitars are fantastic value for money. the default pickups are love/ hate units, you might wanna consider swapping them.

on another note, the discontinued S540FM is still available @ the warehouse, if it's within your means, it's one heck of a guitar to own. the gold hardware is a little tarnished though...

yeah ok thanks alot! hmm but i didnt see s540 there yesterday though, will check it out, anyway, what should i look out for when buying a guitar to check that its good

that S540 is tucked away in the 'glass' room of the warehouse, it's with the other high end Ibanez models, it deserves to be there 8)

be sure to ask for a setup

not necessary if the guitar is well set-up out of the box.

PS: there's a sticky thread pertaining to guitar buying, refer to that for a detailed discussion 8)

hey.Can you tell me why ibanez grgs are bad, some return to pitch thingy i dont quite understand. Can u explain to me.

hey.

the GRG models aren't bad, but the vibrato bridge is.

the GRG models feature the ILT unit, which is unreliable if you whammy regularly; it doesn't return the strings to the correct pitch most of the time. good news is, there are more Gio models that now feature the Edge III vibrato bridge, but they aren't here yet...

as in both guitars are of the same standard.. is it? but the s520 is much more expensive

the current S520EX has a different finish type, which supposedly, is more costly to employ. the featured pickups are also covered units, which again adds to cost. however, as to why there's so much price difference, only Ibanez can answer...

Personal recommendation:
friends, if you are bent on getting a good RG this upcoming sale, one RG470 (pic above) has mysteriously appeared @ Bras Basah showroom, a quick check revealed that it's a 2003 model (MIJ), the final year of its production before being discontinued. it features the Edge Pro vibrato & comes with a hard case, so it's a definitely good guitar to grab. List: $1,100 8)

hi sub erm i saw this rg321 but i am not sure what model it is. it has a gloss finish not satin or wad but looks abit like flamed maple, is it a worthy buy?i might wanna buy it instead at no special discount

the RG321 in S'pore, comes in 2 versions, a satin finish (in black) & a gloss finish (blue, as pitured above). however, the gloss version features no flame cap/ laminate. if it does, you might have seen an RG320FM instead (pic below).

**bro- check your PM 8)
