Hi everyone 8)

this is my effort to assist you in acquiring the guitar which you are gonna grab come the sale day. if you have enquieries pertaining to:

*playability
*specs (pickup models included)

do state them here. i'll try my very best to address all queries. i'm sure other members will chip in too. this is strictly pertaining to electric guitars of course... should it be permissable, i'd turn it into a quick review as well. do check the Temporary Gear Review database for updates.

cheers!! 8)

SUB @ Desaru...

I shall start the ball rolling. Hey Subversion, am contemplating between the Epiphone LP Standard Plus and Epiphone LP custom, from the website i think the main diff is the mahogany/alder top (for Custom) and the flamed maple top (for Standard Plus). Well, it seems there are lotsa "enemies of Epi LP" out there, maybe you can give a balanced view of this?

Lotsa people snatching LPs during the sale, maybe this would help? Thanks Sub! :):):)

One other thing SUB, is the Limited Edition Epiphone "Nicke LP Custom" the same as an Epi LP Custom, that has the special design together with Gibson USA 490R and 498T Pickups. Looks aside, i'm struggling between the Custom and this due to the Gibson pickups.. naturally (IMO) it would be better than Epi stock pups..

It's not really that we are enemies of Epi LP. The Japan ones IMO are very good buys. It's just that I've bought 2 Epis, and both displayed problems. And FYI, the maple top on the standard plus is just a veneer. Its technically mahogany/alder/maple veneer. Veneer does nothing to the tone. It's just like putting a thin piece of paper on it.

Hi subversion, am wanting to buy a guitar now. I really like to play solos, and wanna aim to play those great neoclassic licks. Actually I really love a Gibson SG, but not too sure whether is it suitable for me, and its way expensive too...

I looked through Swee Lee website, and found these Strats which is kinda within my budget. I don't mind an Ibanez, but I have NO idea which Ibanez axe to look out for.

Basically, I want something low action, neck that is not too wide.

Please help me comment on these, I hope it's not too much. Thank you very much. 8)

JEM-JR!!!! AHHHH Do a search on the forum... hehe... basically, don't bother with it. Inferior trem will result in unstable tuning will result in you not wanting to play. ANyway, Sub will fill you up on whats a nice RG to get. :) Btw, where's your budget?

1 - 1.3K ba, and considering that there's the sales... Perhaps I could get something better at this budget...

I selected those based on the prices and LOOKs... :p So lost touch liao...

P/S: I saw some fender jpn in guitar77 website which is already w/thin my budget. K, wait for subversion's review... :D Basically, which country's make is better?

nothing fntastic about that guitar, just the monkey grip, and its similarly speced to the GRGs, less a few differences, a better buy would be the RG 350s, it even cheaper

Heheh,... ok ok guys... lets stick strictly to the topic. This will be a VERY big topic and Sub will have to spend lot of time on it, best keep it neat. Aye?

You gotta try out the 50s, Jimmie Vaughan and Robert Cray strats out personally yourself to see if you like it. for the 50s/JV, the neck profile is different from Standards, sporting a V profile. (ah, time to sticky the neck profile thing too). As for the Robert Cray strat, it's hard tail, so no tremolo if you decide on that one.

Personally if regardless of price, I would choose an American Deluxe.

Do take the time to go down the shop and try out the strats you may intend to buy first.

Dear guys... if you find a IBANEZ AR2000 prestige in the swee lee sale.. do get it...

i just picked one up and i spent 5 hrs trying it in the local guitar store here in L.A ...
the sustain is AWESOME... the quality actually beats PRS in a few ways...
its a set neck with the heel shaved down ... it feels like a neck thru. mine is in a vintage violin finish. with an AAA flame top , gold hardware and 2 very sweet humbuckers...

its seriously a very good guitar... i totally didnt expect to buy another guitar... but this is too good to be passed up.

Hmm

I kinda fixed my eyes on the SA120 (Charcoal Brown)

-Mahogany body
-Large frets
-SAT30 tremolo bridge

Wonder if anybody has tried it?

Anyone can comment between the 2 Fender Teles - American & highway1?

how much are they listed in swee lee?

BTW when is their sale?

so the epiphone in swee lee now r all made in china?? any place that we can find MIJ epiphone LPs?

ic..i saw some reviews on MIC epiphone LP standard...they seems to give a rather gd rating for it...hmm....
