Poor Attitude at Guitar Connection

So much of complaints.

I always hear people saying this shop got no service that shop uncle so rude. Well if you have enough money then just get whatever you're looking for and leave.

At the end of the day it all boils down to if you have enough money or not. If you really want that gear, are you gonna let some rude guy put you off from getting that gear????

I'm not. I'll just throw my money down and get that gear home. I'm not gonna let anyone stop me from anything I want! Period!

Not everyone is as well-versed in the products as you are. What about people like myself who needs some professional advice on which purchase is most suited for myself?

How about people who would like to test a few sets of equipment before deciding on his purchase?
 
When your boss scolds you inside outside frontside backside just to vent his/her frustrations on you, don't you think its a little rude too? I would get offended sometimes but even so, there are 2 options to go from here. Either send him the letter of resignation or bear with it. I believe that most would choose the latter though.

For those who bear with it, why can't you bear with the same nonsense?

We bear with our boss because our boss pays our salary. duh
How are you comparing guitar shopowners to our bosses, who we depend on for a living??

If anything, guitar shop owners SHOULD bear with our nonsense because WE as customers, pay their salaries.

well, not me.. i'll get my gear somewhere else or by other means rather than patronize a shop that does not show respect to their customers

Would you choose to believe salesman pitch over your own research at forums like this one? In such a case, very common to kanna "slice". Very scary indeed if you are new to the guitar business. If you are satisfied with your research and have to means to purchase, by all means go ahead and try before making the final decision. No one would fault you for that.
 
I do understand your concerns however i think that the purpose of a forum is for a public discussion on issues based on the facts presented. I think in my opinion a forum by its very definition in accordance to its origins (Plato) is for this very purpose. I think it is also healthy to disagree with the opinions. But of course this must be dont based on the facts and not one which is personal. I dont think the thread has reached this yet.
I dont think the thread starter wanted this is be a personal bashing thread but one whic h criticizes the professional services offered by the shop in question. And i think thats where all the softies who have been airing their greviances have restricted their comments to.
Please do feel free to rebutt via telling us about a great shopping experience with the shop as mentioned. I m sure we would all like to hear it and this so that a neutral 3rd party reading this thread can make an informed decision.

Well, the salesman would be a lot more well-versed in the stuff he is selling. Afterall, he brought it into his shop, with the intention to sell it. Needless to say, he would be more well-versed about it

Yes, research can be done. But do such forums or website have relevant data? I've seen people criticize and praise Epiphones, because they're built to be like "a Gibson-replica at a lower price". Such contradictions can confuse someone, even with research. What is the next option? To go down to the shop, test it out and see whether they like it.

Also, when it comes to buying instruments, it is a very personal thing. The instrument that you buy for yourself reflects what sort of person you are and the type of music you would make. It has to feel as if it is part of you as you play it. If there is no "feel", it would be difficult to produce good music out of it. Hence, the only way to see whether it is to your liking is to go down to the shops and test it out.

I mentioned earlier, that the least that most expect is a neutral, uneventful purchase. We don't want to have a negative experience. If shopkeepers give us a negative experience, we would be reluctant to go and try out their guitars in the future as well

Anyway, i don't like to visit that place.

I think he is 30+.. lol. I don't like to visit that place either.. don't really like the smoke inside.. lol.
 
So I believe after having made into the papers his work would be called a professional business.He should show some professionalism in terms of service which cast the first impression even if he sell over-pirced guitars.

He's just a bad package for me.But if I can get a good service from him then I may take back my words.
 
To the TS, do you know that you can actually file a complaint to the Retail Promotion Centre in Ang Mo Kio Ave. They handle unsatisfactory retailer experiences and disputes.

You totally don't deserve to be treated like that.
 
:(Today I had went over to Penisular and asked about the price of the bass neck at Guitar Connection Ptd Ltd. Here is the conversation

Me: erm, may i know how much is the price of this bass neck
(one silve gold hair uncle come out)
Uncle: $1000 plus, you got money? or u want a hundred plus one? What kind of neck you want
Me:I am not sure yet I just come over to check out the price so i can get it next time
Uncle shouted: u no money don's say so much, u check already then come if not get out!

So is this the attitude that I should get?
I seriously very upset about this matter.


no one deserves such attitude.
I think the guy you dealt with doesnt have any manners.
 
And honestly, i find it a bit strange that the threadstarter deliberately registered a nick in this forum JUST to lodge a complaint. go count it. Every post Yuki has made in this forum is on this thread.

some people just too free.

If I am that free to start this thread, why I still bother to talk here? Indeed I just joined this forum. I do not know anything about this forum and because I received such bad service from GC, my friend told me there this Music Kopitiam in this forum to complain.
 
the music kopitiam is not meant for people to complain. Never was the intention of the folk who set up the forum here for.

It was only till some people who didnt get satisfactory services from the shops locally, didnt bring it up to the shop face to face and only thing they knew, is to come here and complain. And in the end, nothing much has changed, till the next new guy come around, repeat the same thing all over.

Anyway, threads of similar content all along round the forums here, if you search to read on it, usually its being locked by moderator and with the remark of bring the matters to the managment of the shop instead of voicing out here. Cos most of the time, if really concern about the services and wanna see improvement, the best is still to go back to the shop and talk to them

But sadly, most of the time, we will only voiced out here, due to the unsatisfactory services we gotten, but not really so much hoping they improved their services. Of course, everything can be painted nicely as, "wanna warned others'.
