I have yet to cut a shorten trem arm and all but i think i will give those a miss as I might end up messing up the guitar if i get overly anal about every detail.

You can upgrade you whole bridge into a Callaham, and get the shorter Gilmour arm.

Yeah i did think of that but the thought of drilling holes for a 6 point bridge turned me off. Anyway, I kinda prefer the newer 2 point bridges. Besides, the process is rather tedious and i don't have the right tools for it.

You can always keep the newer 2 point bridge and saddles. Just change the block, then you can get the Gilmour length arm with it.
