This is just my personal experience only and its not to offend anybody out there using the buy/sell in soft.

Came across a looper pedal which i think the person might have bought it couple of months ago at price S$500. Then, wanting to sell the used item at S$480 not knowing that the shop have drop the brand new price at S$480. (Prices are just example for illustration benefits).

No matter how good the pedal was put on sale, USED is USED, really felt very strange about how some people selling thier used items at the same price for new one.

Please throw in your review or perhaps share with us the experiences.

Thanks

Oh brother. There's another thread like this already here

Either way, this has been talked about donkey times and I believe that most has agreed that, if the price is justifiable, then its fine. Either way, the market will sort itself

wait till u experience a lawsuit just becoz ur buyers want a refund..
then u will noe tat...
its no big deal with that...

always do ur homework before buying. If u dun wan to be scammed then buy from shops with good reputation. Sellers can always sell how much they wan to.

Depends on situation I think.

Say this guy got a pedal he bought for $500. He regret buying in a few days, still almost new, hardly played in the past few days, still got all the packaging, warranty, receipt etc. He tries to sell it for $480. It happens that the pedal is out of stock at stores and there's ppl who wants it urgently, then why not?

Also depends on the rarity and demand, some products have limited quantity coming into stores and ppl might be willing to get it even if it's only like e.g $10 cheaper than new ones.

As in the example stated by threadstarter. Well, if he really wants to clear it and no one is gonna buy it as the price is the same as a new one in stores due to price drop, he will likely reduce the price if the item doesn't move. So either wait, just buy a new one from stores or don't buy at all.

dude... if u are more exposed, u'll learn to know whats a good deal and whats not a good deal. so that obviously is not a good deal. so its not. dont buy i guess? who wants a bad deal? and life goes on. if the seller finds out that no one is interested, he might lower his price, if he doesnt he can continue trying to sell in vain. none of our business right?

if into crazy high end boutique stuff, u should know that many, many of these pedals actually sell for MUCH MORE than the original brand new buying price, even when they are USED. for example buying a brand new pedal from the builder himself can cost 400USD, whereas if u go to ebay, u see them selling for 900USD. doesnt make sense right? but ppl still buy! why? there's a demand for such stuff. they rather pay the extra 500USD to get something that maybe, is no longer in production, or has a 4year waiting list and they feel its justified that 500USD is worth paying extra to skip 4 years of waiting for a brand new one.

like someone said, the market will know how to adjust itself.

haiz...
why so anal about this kinda thing...

Too Expensive = Blardy rip off!
Too Cheap = Something must be wrong with the item!
Den how like that?

Too Expensive, cannot afford = don't buy loh.. simple as that. The seller did not do anything wrong.

:)

"Brand New"

There's a recent post on Guitar - Buy/Sell section, which leads to a website of the seller. There, quite a number of entry-level guitars are listed as 'brand new'. But after a bit of digging up, it seems that those guitars on sale are not really 'brand new'.

It also seems the seller bought those guitars through SOFT too, and are now being sold twice the price. (Of course, pricing is always up to the seller.)

But, stating as 'brand new' when in fact it's not, isn't that fraudulent? Quite unfortunate for newbies and kids who might be taken into.

Please note that I've used the word 'seems' accordingly. Anybody else noticed, or verify, which I'm referring to?

Bro, dont really know which post you're talking about. But in my own opinion, I feel that it could be a slight misunderstand in a sense. Maybe the seller wished to mean, brand new, in a sense that it's in a pretty good condition. Not sure though, cause I havent seen pics of it or anything.

I guess it's best to give the benefit of a doubt till the seller clear things up?

But everyone should try to dig up more info on the stuffs you're getting. :]

Wow, a jackson no name that looks like it's home made selling for 5K. Perhaps someone should FB to this guy about his post...

Why are you guys so skeptical? Couldn't it be that he just prefers his 15000Rm Jackson Custom Shop to look like something that he made in his own garage?

......NO.

bad deal

just became another victim of a bad deal, haiz...

buyer and i agreed on price and place and time to meet.

last minute canceled.

whose fault is it?

i would like to your opinion(s).

nobody's fault.

take it easy, all these just part and parcel of buy and sell.

cant sell, move on, wait for others who are interested, start all over and try.

If wanting to find fault, then got to be from seller side, coz without selling, we wont be giving buyer a chance to play us out.

if cannot understand, then dont sell. There wont be any anger, sadness what so ever.

Buyer dont owe us nor we owe buyer, but as long we want to sell, we are giving them a chance to play us out as well as selling it...

On the practical and logical side of thigns, even if all here think its buyer's fault, you are still stuck with the things you want to sell.

and even if we say that its nobody fault, you might not agree nor able to see through the depth of it, thus feeling worst and still, couldnt sell the gear

and 3rd, even if we comdemned buyer from backing out, you are still stuck with the things you wanted to sell.

So who is at the losing end, cant sell and feeling lousy while buyer who back out last minute prolly wont be too sorry for what they have caused you.

Heh, move on, no dwelling. Some people are prolly enjoying themself while you are feeling lousy and sorry. What for right.. Hehe, not as if our foul mood can make bad luck to be on them.

no worries. I was in same shoe as you just days back, in fact much worst happen, but still am having the gear which i wanted to sell. Haha, can only LL take it, smile and move on.

On the brighter side, can keep the stuff as backup if cant sell.
