I think you take Large should be right for you...

I like fitting Tees leh...i measured and I'm 37" from armpit to armpit....how come the size small of your Tees are so big ah? I usually wear medium...but 40" seems big man...

hmm..generally the shirts are more baggy, got more room to move around, cause they decided on a straight cutting...so more airy..
