11th Soft Drum Xchange will be at *scape

i can't get to the videos leh.... they say not available in your region... lol... sounds like cable tv

Thanks snow and ceing for the videos and pictures!

Ceing, I can't access the videos for the same reason as myner too.

Myner, is it possible for you to demostrate hammering a cymbal during one of the meet up? Do you do it through the trial-and-error method and hit til the sound you want?

woah. thats gona be very hard without transport... cos i need a sturdy table, a clamp and 2 hammers... i'll try to get a video done... cos i'm gona hammer a pair of hats soon.

a video of you hammering would be mighty interesting. anyway, i've always thought that the hammering of cymbals would require the use of an anvil?

hehe... i've yet to find myself a second hand anvil... i use both side of a hammer at the bottom to replicate an anvil...

Wah ceing, your camera like power leh. I love the first photo where Alfe is in focus but the rest all in motion. And the photo of Myner with his splash. Got arty angle sial!

And Myner, that's very ingenious of you. But I supposed got lots of work involved? Cos the hammer side like very small leh. Must show us indeed!

not really... i use a larger hammer head at the bottom and and a smaller one to make impact. it kinda sucks sometimes when the cymbal slips and the impact hammer misses the "anvil" resulting in a depression rather a hammer mark.

Ok I've changed a host to the videos. haha. And thx for the compliments guys. :) I agree with snow that we shold give small breaks in between each speaker to give us time to mingle arnd, And i noticed that whenever someone comes in, everyone would be so excited, well thats a good thing but sometimes i feel that the reaction of the crowd was so over that they neglected the speaker. :(

the only picture i manage to take at last xchange
