I'm looking for a guitar that is a reasonable price (700 is ok I guess) which will last me for a long time. This weekend I'll probably go over to Roxy Square (and maybe Swee Lee if I have time) to try out a couple of guitars.
BUT you gotta bring someone who KNOWS(not those who think they do) to check out the guitar for you.
How do you tell the difference?

Have you met Zakk Wylde?
Lets count the number of shredders using LPs and the number using, say, an ibanez RG.
Roxy Square??? What guitars are there man? Only Look For Beez and some small shop with people who are clueless of what they're doing..
heck you might even fall in love with the guitar from the starter pack and you'll save yourself a good 400- 500 bucks =)
Think Guns N' Roses, Nirvana, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Incubus, etc...
