Gibson Black Beauty

Just love the signature LP sound. Beautiful tone with great sustain while not forgetting great playability. Adding in the black finish with gold hardware and 60's style neck with an ebony fretboard. What more can I say. Could actually have better lower fret access. It's a heavy guitar but well, should I complain?

Gibson Hummingbird

Best acoustic guitar I've ever played. Simple in design with a touch of elegance. Sweet sounds with a good balance of lows and highs. Very comfortable neck with a body just nice for performances. Don't think I have any complains. Once you start playing it, you just can't stop.

my favourite neck is from a fernandes mockingbird, not too wide, not too slim, just nice. but the best tone imho comes from a les paul, love the creaminess man

bro, that epi dot reeks of awesomeness. love the finish..
is it for sale?
;)

I really like LPs, but I hate their playability...

I found a nice compromise in an EBMM BFR JP...

The neck's perfect, and uses almost the same wood as an LP...

fehlupkid: haha but im sure you're still busy with the Larry Carlton right?

the rest: you'd be surprised with the clean tone of EMG 85s and 81s. Had them in a Gibson SG standard once and they worked wonders. Only bummer was the need to swap batteries.

Tone wise - i'd go with PRS. Either you love it or you hate it. Personal preference. I love the warmness of the tone as well as the bitey but not to jarring highs.

Feel - Love the LP. Owned a LP Standard and Custom in the past and i've never gotten over the fact that i sold em. Awesome feel. Love how the weight lets it sit firmly. (for those who feel an LP's too heavy, try being a man )

my fav, still is my own personal Squier Strat. Have yet to find another guitar that makes me really want to break the bank and buy it. It's got a HSS config, which means I can play clean or real distortedly if I want to. Plus. It's white

of all those that i've owned before, gotta say i love my OLP John Petrucci the most. a really value for money and nice to gig and jam with. The weight is just nice and the neck is nicely setup.

Setback for this is the sound and that mine always go out of tune. Don't know why. the stock PUs are nice. Can get a warm sound out of it, really liked it for a stock PU, but I just want to have more power and angst to go with it. As for tuning..err, anybody who owns this got the same problem? It only occurs on heavy whamming.. got any tips for this??.....

I love petrucci's guitar!! 3way with H-H, 5 bolt neck with sculpted cutaway and non-floating trem. Pure simplicity

Rickenbacker 360.
Holding this feels like having a baby sleeping on your chest if you know what I mean........mmmmm. Heavenly.
Yes , of course the unique jangly sound is really nostalgic.

CrazyCactusJack:
Try lubricating the nut and saddles, have the trem setup properly...
It should help, but the problem won't go away entirely...

Tried the newer Sterling JPs, it's very very well made, and the neck is much more closer to its big brother too...
Not sure where you can find one in SG, I tried it at Bentley in KL...

XLayaR:
JP's trem is a non-locking-floating trem...

awesome pickup configurations:
pos 1 - bridge hum, nice gain, full n thick sounding
pos 2 - bridge hum + single coil, haven't used this much
pos 3 - single coil, twang! the thing bout this single coil is that it's placed very close to brige position, so it gives a slight resemblance of strat twang.
pos 4 - neck hum + single coil, low treble, high mid...love it! sounds very nice in clean tone too.
pos 5 - neck hum, hmm...not really a fan of this, too bassy.

love the extended cutaway. love the tone. love the sexy look.

i love les pauls too. i agree on the playability. but i'm the kinda guy who would adapt myself to the guitars i love, instead of finding a guitar that suits me.

the prs paul allender...plays about anything.
nice warm tone in any setting, takes the highs really well too.
the neck profile is damn flat and nice.
and also doesnt give a back ache!!

the setbacks: its not a bolt on neck, but for the almost insane access to the higher frets, it might be worth it. it doesnt stay in tune for long, just leave it there for a day and its out of tune, play hard on the low e and a strings (i'm a rhythm) and they go out of tune in under an hour.
