Whats wrong with Agathis wood?>

not all agathis bodied guitars are bad/terrible.2 years ago(when i had not much money),i had an ltd f-50.maybe the pickups werent really my type,i had the bridge swapped for an evo.and it did prove to be gig-friendly.

a lot of musician sing about forest preservation and global warming.and now we are so excited to find out what is the best tree to cut for making the best sound guitar.... or other instruments....

( okay, don't take it serious, I don't mean it ....  )

the elitist would believe that only selected wood would manifest a great sounding guitar but a decent/ proper wood with great craftsmanship would do the job as well.

i have to agree with jullian.

hahahahaha! But seriously bro, add up all the guitars made in this world and you'd probably get a forest!!

but i don't suppose guitars are responsible for deforestation, though, that's a bit too much haha

that aside, since there are rosewood fretboards would it be possible to have a guitar body made of rosewood? although it will be expensive

yes it's not guitars but a luxury Tama drum set with completed brazillian percussions .. oh,... they not only deforest but also enemy of "I love animal" group, because they use a lot of bishon's skin.

(okay... again.. this is just a joke   )

I used to own a Squier Deluxe FMT Strat, and it sounded quite good and acoustically, it's quite loud. I liked it a lot, but had to sell it to make way for a new amp...

That said though, I tried the Squier Stagemaster 7 at SL-Sims Drive... it sounded very soft and dead when played acoustically.

were the strings dead? ;)

Someone told me this......

Most of the current low-mid range "Mahogany" guitars are actually made from a wood called "Nato" or "Nyato", which can be easily found in Asia. But it's not wrong for manufacturers to claim their guitars are made from mahogany...because technically speaking, nato is a sub-species wood of mahogany. Best of all, it's much cheaper!

hmm, but for mahogany I suppose as long as it shares the same characteristics as mahogany, then it should be acceptable already? My dad used to be an old-school carpenter when he was very young and he told me nyatoh was a very good wood for building stuff (i presume furniture) and also happens to be very common.

Nato though appears to be called (European Mahogany) so if they have the same effect as the "high class" mahogany I won't be complaining

all they need is a prolific builder to use some asian wood and give it an exotic name like

MA(laysian)MY(stery)WOO(d)

and all of a sudden, plain old Jelutong wood becomes TEH TONE FOR DAYS WOOD.

Itz teh consfirmz! Itz all about teh marketingz!
