Is it so difficult to put together a gig with all Chinese bands?

No. It's not difficult to do a Chinese rock fest but the problem now we may not have enough bands to performe in a 15 bands rock fest due to some of the bands who had participated in SuperBand had some agreement signed that they are not allow to perform in gigs and concert not organise by our King of Singapore Media. Chinese rock fest has been done before.

Ya. I agreed that Project Playground was a very well organised and marketed gig which I had performed in 2003. Hope I can get Kexin to join forces.

Yeah.... Chinese band is always like lowest life-form...... dunno why ... so ani1 of u has any good suggestion?

perhaps those who are interested to be performing in the chinese rock fest can send email to someone and consolidate and see if there is enuff bands ??

Superband

Hi, I was wondering after last night show,
did the judges deliberately knock out those
band with majority non-Chinese
eg. Juz-B and Snoopy ?

Since the prize is for a recording contract,
it'll be strange for a non-Chinese band to
record one.

that kinda knocking out was expected of me quite a long time ago.. but its a waste that juzB was out.. while Qinobe kinda deserve it.. i mean i wun want some band like theirs to release an album full of crazy no meaning songs.. went to the live before and saw the guitarist was playing a drop D tt does the Drop D kinda power chord all the way thru... kinda lame.. ok those i said are juz IMO..

which is JuzB?izit the band with only 1 cheena guy?

btw anybody kno the band in which had a guitarist play a guitar solo at yesterdae's show?

that is snoopy i think.

juzB is the acapella group.

I hope this programme never gets shown out of Singapore. I wouldn't want foreigners to think the shitty bands represent our local scene coz they sucked so bad.

hey guys just in case u dunno.. they only got 1 week to learn their new piece every week.and if you can rip a good solo w/o mistake in juz 1 week den you shld already be in superband. Its nt shitty.. other country have competitions with terrifying solos, yes they do but look at their buffer time.. also.. this 1week they have to show the producer a short demo of their song they are practicing n if its nt acceptable they'll have to change.. say left with 3-4days? can your band learn a good piece in such short time every week? yup another thing to note.. they compete everyweek.. if you still dun feel the stress they feeling den i cant say much.

btw, empty vases makes the most noise..

some of the finalist seems very good.

eg, SOUL, Lost Soldiers, J3, Lucify ...

SOUL shows boy band showmanship - dancing and singing
Lost Soldiers good sense of humour with good musicianship
J3 good vocals with playing
Lucify rock and roll band

i take it u meant empty vessels? lol.

nobody cares how long or how much time a performer practises offstage when he/she is playing infront of an audience onstage. Either you rocked or you sunked. Last time I checked, the "superbands" still sinks. Sorry I don't like to give sympathy points.

I speak my mind just like you speak yours.

Simple, if you do not have what it takes then quit. Stop whining and yet still plunging yourself into the heat, enjoying the attention while complaining of the "hardships". Wouldn't want to elaborate more, but the performances of the bands in there aren't exactly up to mark anyway with the exception of a few.

I truly do not take most of your posts with a pinch of salt, it's been irksome

are the Superbands that bad?

there's this vocal group Summer Breeze
quite bad but still get into the ending rounds;
after all it's 30% judges votes and 70% viewers choice

in such competition, good to have lots of members in the band

I think till now we must know that the Producers or the TV station is not doing a programme which their purpose is helping the local bands. what they're doing is a entertainment national TV programme for audience from 3-60years old. so ultimately, good bands doesn't always win in this kinda competition. is the entertainment. :) So far I feel that this programme doesn't actually entertain me cause the standard isn't good enough for a national TV programme. the first time I saw the programme i was thinking.... "am I watching a inter-schoolor a children singing competition or what?" after about 5 minutes, I switch to other channel.. :) the Production was simply under par for a national TV progeamme. :)

Just my 2 cents worth of comments.

curiously, who's still in and WHEN are they gonna FINALLY finish the programme? it's dragging on so long that i think the producers are either having problems, or dragging it for some other business reason.

and writing a solo and performing it within a week isn't a toughie. i know many guitarists who can do it in a day.

ahh agreed.
but it IS getting boring isn't it?

like how SG IDOL started months back, but JUST started airing on TV. even then, at least they're doing it week by week and each contestant's item is short.
