My guitar just came back from orange drops form sv guitars and the effect was just awesome. The clean became clearer and much better(not so muddy) and the distortion just improved way more than i expected. The sound quality in short, was just great. Quite unbelievable wad these cute small little capacitors can do to ur guitar. Anyone care to share about the effects of ur orange drops?(if u have done the mod)

it's a common mod, orange drops are just one of the few more affordable mods you can do to your guitar. I'm using vintage bumble caps on my guitar

lols...wad do you mean by trivial? And is not purposely kays? I really want to know lors....and oops, did I offend you? Cos er u sound angry...sorrys if i did. :)

They influence your pots. Good for people who like to mess with their Vol/Tone but not much diff for peeps who max everything out anyways.
Just one teeny weeny factor that doesn't influence your tone to such an extent as per described. Must be the ears! :p

Removed the tone pot from the circuit on my Strat since I have no use for it. I left the pot in there just to have a symmetrical look to my knobs.

The clean become clearer is probably due to getting a treble bleed mod done. I just read your other thread. Changing the tone capacitor does very little to tone if all controls are at 10.

tone control is a passive low pass filter that let the low frequency signal passing through to amp while all the highs are filtered off. Due to the passive nature of the geetar wiring in general, theres no boost of any sort. It only allow what ever frequency thats present in the signal chain through and attenuate/decrease from there.

There is no boosting factor in a passive geetar wiring to speak off. Any changes of components that result in results, other than placebo effect, is that the previous components in it are not letting through whats already present, to be presented to us in hearing sense.

it doesnt really matter, even if its the placebo effect. you still feel that your money's well spent. thats all that matters... unless you're going profession with all your sound.

An Orange Drop cap is like what, three bucks? I went through about three of them before deciding that I did not need a tone pot lol
