Hmmm.. I sent an email to Onyx Forge guitars for a custom made SG..

The specs were as follows ==>
Body:
SG Mahogany body (based on the thicker '61)
Nitrocellulose Lacquer, painted in white
Red tortoise shell pickguard (smaller pickguard of the '61)
Routing for 3 P90s (does not matter if it's humbucker routing, no pickups required)

Neck:
Set-neck
24.75" scale
Mahogany neck
Rosewood Fretboard
Tree of life inlays
Reversed headstock (not 3-by-3, but 6)

Electronics:
Tune-o-matic bridge (if possible with Bigsby)
Piezo enabled with blender options
Master volume
2 tone controls (similar to strats)

Unfortunately, he said that he is currently building warranted full turn key customs, so will decline to quote a partial instrument..

im thinkin of just ordering mahogany body blanks and a 25" scale maple neck-thru w/ ebony board from stewmac.
USD350 total.

then just get it routed...and i'll painstakingly carve the body myself

I was thinking of neck-thru.. For more sustain.. But then the price would increase quite considerably wouldn't it? Hmmm..

there are rumors than the SG special will be upgraded with the small '61 reissue style pickguard in the very near future.
if that happens i am so going to get my first SG special

I am gonna do it (orange drop caps) in a few weeks time with my sg and do a PU change from SDs to my newly arrived Mean90s. Although beez said he can do it but he did confess that it is a tough job since the sg's pot compartment is really cramp.

all my SGs are virgins.
the only SG that i have done something to is my SG-90 which i resprayed black and put on EMGs...
simply cos the ori color became piss yellow and it didnt have the ori pickups...was some stupid dimarzio and SD hotrails.

tho right now, i am still trying to get a pair of P-rails which i think will go into my orville SG.
i should hopefully get my P-rails by end of this month.
