the guitar per se is wonderful but it has its niche appeal. the Firebird's narrow wound pickup has reduced bass response to me, the same reason the LP Deluxe has a limited following (pickups related).

but there's no stopping your fondness for it, of course...

you haven seen my pick yet.it's so worn out that all the sides look similar.thats hard work over there.

heehee...traded off my sg for this beauty....yum yum..love the tones out of this birdy...

i nearly bought the KH Jr- superb guitar despite its dwarfed nature, but it can't hold tuning well...

Ah, but it can. :)

Yes, it is a superb guitar. This is not a toy like my Les Paul PeeWee - I would not hesitate to rehearse or (if I had one) play a gig with it. It has superior parts and build quality (Indonesian made) let down by only a couple of minor irritations (see too-shallow nut slots on high strings in the pictures). The pickups sound great. Also, I wouldn't say 'despite' its small nature - that's its attraction of course - it enables me to do things I can't on a regular size guitar.

The complaint that out-of-the-box it can't hold tuning well is a fair one and is due IMHO to the fact that the nut is way too high. When you press on the strings, due to the short scale length and looser tension you get microtonal bends that you wouldn't notice on a regular 24.5" or 25" scale. Solution - I had the relief taken out and the nut slots lowered so that the action is as close to the neck without buzz that you can get. A bit of grease in the nut (actually Shred - what you see on the fretboard is silicone grease that I use on the nut and strings) keeps things in tune after bending.

Everyone should own one of these guys - for the bathroom, for the office, for the price, and for the F***G cool SKULL INLAYS!!!! :D

the high E seems like going to be off the nut. Is it like that?

Yes. Very shallow cut in the nut. The tech told me to basically put more winds on the string post next time i restring so that the break angle is larger which should keep it in the slot.
