Pedals: Challenge Yourself!

Interesting question...my current setup is already down to 5 effects:

Cusack Screamer Fuzz
Skreddy SD
Freakshow Brown Rabbit
MXR EQ
DMM

To fit the pedaltrain mini I'd probably bench the Brown Rabbit and the EQ. The Cusack and the Skreddy can do the high gain chores if stacked.

ahhaha these 4 are more than enough (excluding the tuner , and of course the wireless unit isn't a pedal)

A challenge indeed! If I really have to be minimal, I should be able to survive on just:

1) Boss RE-20
2) Boss DD-7
3) Boss RV-3
4) Boss PS-5
5) one optional dirt pedal (either Little Big Muff or Turbo Rat)

if i could get a pt mini

I would just use these few pedals:

1)Goose modded Ts9dx (TB)
2)Goosoniqueworx Seventheaven
3)Boss PS-5
4)Goosoniqueworx Boosty
5)Visual Sound V2 Chorus/Echo

Good enough for the other bands i jam with except my main band.

Basically just an OD/booster, seventheaven as my main med gain to high gain drive, PS-5 for that occasional whammy and metallic keyboard sounding chorus, boosty for volume boost for solos and my H2O for chorus and delay.

Maybe i should just get a mini...hmm....but then the junior more or less settles it...no need to take pedals in and out which would be quite troublesome if i jam with different bands.

goose fetish!

nah....tone fetish!!

Just so happens that my essential pedals happens to be Goose's pedals or modded...... I got them modded by him out of convenience anyways. Thankfully I haven been disappointed yet.

Hahaha. I'm not really into alot of pedals yet. Just overdrive/distort/fuzz,Eq's and Wah. So i'm not sure what will suit my needs. I have a Line 6 Uber and an Artec Para. Eq. But mhmmn.

Probably
- Line 6 Uber Metal
- MXR KFK 10 Band Eq
- Jim Dunlop Classic
- EHX's Holy Grail

=)

If running through a high end amp, my essential pedals will be

Xotic BB Preamp
MXR Ten Band Graphic Equalizer
Ibanez De7
Fulltone Clyde Wah

Good thread! I'm gonna rebuild my board to the below and motivate myself to start playing again.

For the old skool shoegazer sound...

Crybaby wah modded till the cows got slaughtered with multiple switches and knobs but set to only one setting, the irony!
DOD Classic Fuzz modded till I forgotten what was the original design and if it still sounds the same damn...
Line6 DL6 with expression pedal to "blend" presets
Zoom 507 (its comes with a built in tuner!)

this is tough..assuming budget is not an issue, for me it would be

Fulltone clyde wah
Menatone workingmans blues
OCD
DD7

if working on a budget... it would be my current setup

Modded BD2
Modded TS9
Dr Swamp
Ibanez AD9

If budget isn't an issue:

TS9DX Keeley "Flexi" mod
Goosonique Seventheaven
Keeley modded Line 6 MM4
TC Electronic Nova Delay

If budget is an issue or the criteria is easily purchased off-the-shelf and non-discountinued pedals only:

Boss OD-3
MI Audio Crunch Box
Line 6 MM4
Digitech Digidelay

I'd hate the idea of sacrificing a floor pedal tuner, but i guess I could make do with one of those clip on tuner thingies.

i think he meant those pedal that are easily available off the rack~

Anyway if i were to choose, it'll be..

Ibanez Ts808
MI Crunch Box
MXR EVH Phase90
Boss DD2

Oh hey~ these are on my board now! haha

hey Whitestrat - it used to be US$100 last time, I note the price has since gone up to US$129 - you're right, with shipping you're looking at maybe S$220 - 230 for a distortion pedal...cheaper than many boutiques but still by no means loose change.

What are they going for used, S$180 or so? for the price i figure that's pretty ok...but then I guess the Line 6 MM4 would be considered expensive (though it's essentially 12 pedals in one)?

Awright awright...let me revise that to a true budget one, can? :)

Boss OD-3
MXR Distortion III
Marshall RG-1 Regenerator (chorus + phaser + flanger in one, cheap!)
Digitech Digidelay
