Hey yo, time to revive this thread. I'm now convinced that not having a famous brand name on a headstock of a custom guitar..well it is actually a good thing. U get to pick out the body and neck and spare parts of ur choice and then make it the dream guitar that u always wanted to have and its really yours to keep

Presenting my Super Red Strat!

Body is alder, made in Japan while the neck is an Allparts maple neck, 70s style headstock, with lacqured finishing. H-S-H pup config with push pull pot and blender switch. Being a fan of Strats, I went thru Squiers, Fenders before I decided to make a custom Strat on my own. This one cost me a bomb and I found out later I could do it cheaper if I bought my parts from other places, so yah, heart pain but lesson learnt. This thing is a keeper.

I have a custom Tele in the works pretty soon and I aim to spend less than what I did on the custom Strat. So watch this space

Body and neck is from GC, and yes the neck is awesome to play on. Will be removing the lacquer from the neck soon for a smooth satin feel

bumping this thread up with my shameless post hehe. finally found a camera to take some pics of my diy strat. had a maple neck on it but swapped it for a rw neck to tame the high end from the pickups.

kinda miss the look of the maple neck though...

its alder body...the grain of it is beautiful...and the usual rosewood with maple back...all of it was done by Gr3y aka vincent...and the wood r actually from china...and its actually pretty impressive...

anyway faizal..will u be dropping by beez place anytime soon? i might be heading down this week or next week...
