Hi Guys,
Bumping an old thread and seeking some opinion. I've done up the body and electronics for this One (and 1/16th) piece poplar guitar. I'm planning a 24 fretter neck here. Rosewood Fingerboard. What kind of headstock do you think suits best? 6 in Line? RHS? 3x3? 4x2? Ibanez styled? Jackson Styled? I've several options at hand including a paddle headstock(unfortunately, all are rosewood, so can't change that). I'm even considering setting in the neck.
Thanks in Advance.
Specs:
Poplar almost one piece body, carved top, stain & oil finish.
Carvin M22/M22T humbucker set
Trapezium bridge plate with Roller saddles
String through custom Steel Block (in place of ferrules)
6 way switch (centre knob)
Will use chrome for tuners and roller nut for neck. Likely to stain the headstock too.
Btw, what genre of music do you feel is most suitable just by looking at this guitar?
FYI:-
Poplar: one of the softer hardwoods, nicely resonant with a meaty tone and pleasingly lightweight. Many guitar manufacturers are using this wood as a substitute for alder, as it is quite similar in tone.

But I can't tell for sure. I'm getting it tested once done... cheers!
