mucho gracious man
another question, which one is better to get?
new fender licensed rosewood or used fender american standard neck?

depends very much on you actually..if u wan something more specific, u might wana try the licensed parts and if u just want a neck maybe a used american neck would do just fine..

specific want pao ferro but pocket cannot make it.. lol
may get a fender neck end of the mth, any u guys 'throwing' away a fender neck? haha

yup, its for a fender body..
so thought of getting a fender rose neck
see how it goes, hopefully can get one.. by then

I don't get it, if pau ferro, why darken it? Anyway, there are two Pau Ferro Necks on ebay right now... if you going for prata do tell me, I'm at Khatib... not too far off JK.

thats the thing...
mind pm me the bay link pls..
can get arthur to arrange prata sessions, he's king of prata

arthur, that relic job looks wicked man. im a fan of big necks too. i like to feel some chunky, "meat" in my hands when im playing hehe.

eieo - would love do more relicing and stuff but im broke la haha.. i completed my relic with a better allparts rw neck but i dont have a camera to take photos now. i used nitro to finish the neck and i can see why its prefered over poly but the downside is i can still smell thinner on the neck after 3 mths?

all parts rw.. nice!
how come now all become brokers club? haha
nitro.. so u whipped out all the lacquer? is that neck for the daphne ala turquose strat?

Hi Guys,

Bumping an old thread and seeking some opinion. I've done up the body and electronics for this One (and 1/16th) piece poplar guitar. I'm planning a 24 fretter neck here. Rosewood Fingerboard. What kind of headstock do you think suits best? 6 in Line? RHS? 3x3? 4x2? Ibanez styled? Jackson Styled? I've several options at hand including a paddle headstock(unfortunately, all are rosewood, so can't change that). I'm even considering setting in the neck.

Thanks in Advance.

Specs:

Poplar almost one piece body, carved top, stain & oil finish.
Carvin M22/M22T humbucker set
Trapezium bridge plate with Roller saddles
String through custom Steel Block (in place of ferrules)
6 way switch (centre knob)

Will use chrome for tuners and roller nut for neck. Likely to stain the headstock too.

Btw, what genre of music do you feel is most suitable just by looking at this guitar?

FYI:-
Poplar: one of the softer hardwoods, nicely resonant with a meaty tone and pleasingly lightweight. Many guitar manufacturers are using this wood as a substitute for alder, as it is quite similar in tone. http://www.guitarsunited.com/faqs.htm#first question

But I can't tell for sure. I'm getting it tested once done... cheers!
