My "Virgin" Project

This is my first attempt at putting something together based on my favourite individual specs of a strat. Realized that it will cost me a lot more than buying an American Standard. But of course, the consolation is that this will definitely sound and look a lot better.....

Body: supposed to be an original Fender body taken from some re-issue.
PUPs: Fender Custom Shop Texas Specials.
Electronics: Toneshaper
Neck (not shown): dunno what brand (but damn expensive), big headstock with fingerboard binding.

The blardy S1 switch complicated lah...
wanted to trim them to correct length but decided to keep the longer leads due to "resale value" later on
;)

UP YOUR PTS FOR A POWER diY

huh?/!! Oh dear! where do i get the copper sheets to do that? any tips on best way of doing it (the true novice has surfaced).

ITS ALREADY DONE UP WITH COPPER SHEETS FROM WHAT i SEE IN THE PIX ...

PERSONALLY I PREFER SHIELDING PAINT COZE ITS LESS OF A HASSLE TO PAINT AND FOIL FOR THE PICKGUARD BUT I HAVE DONE COPPER B4 AND IT HAS THE SAME EFFICIENY AS SHIELDING PAINT

I ordered the adhesive copper shielding tapes from stew mac when i ordered my fretting tools.
DIY them. its not so difficult just have to be careful not to cut your fingers while doing it. (i learnt the hard way)
but as FGL said. shielding paint could be easier.
Stewmac has those as well or either that u can source locally.

Now that FGL has mentioned, It does look like u have copper tape under the paint...
Check it out before getting some on it.

thanks guys. i supposed it should be shielded somewhat as it's a used body. but when i was doing some testing by plugging in and ringing some other guitars on top, the hum was really bad at some positions,=, maybe the connections of the toneshaper is not so reliable.

apologies to all esp. Malcom for not knowing about him (little bird don't know elastic), like i said, i am total novice and it's my "virgin" project.

huatsup: no apologies needed.. trial & error is teh best
its good to keep our options open, get to know more luthiers
for me.. starivng artist no choice la got to diy.. cant even afford fgl expenses.. kekeke
