Manchester United 2008-2009 Season Thread

but really its an easy quiz. i took a trivia quiz in a man u magazine. oh man that was so freaking hard.

they ask questions like who scored the first goal at old trafford in the 1968 season. and it wasnt even multiple choice. i couldnt answer any questions at all.

i had this "un-official" quiz book. some of the topics in there are like unheard of ah.

but good knowledge for any Man Utd fan.

Tevez on the way out?

Carlos Tevez's future at Manchester United has been thrown into fresh doubt after the striker's representative Kia Joorabchian declared he is ''studying other options''.

Tevez has been on loan at Old Trafford for nearly two years but with the deal expiring at the end of the season and United have failed to take up their option to sign the striker on a permanent basis.

"Carlos is in the market now that United have not made any move for him," Joorabchian told the Daily Star.

"We are now studying other options and interested parties. There is no option left with United any longer."

United missed the chance to seal a deal for Tevez in January, despite the Argentina international's repeated claims that he would be happy to stay in the Premier League and speculation has continued due to the fact he has only started 13 games this season.

Argentina boss Diego Maradona has urged Tevez to join Serie A leaders Inter Milan, who have been linked with a £30m bid (along with Real Madrid) in the summer, but Joorabchian's confirmation that the player's third-party owners are weighing up interest from other clubs suggests they will not be the only ones interested.

Tevez himself has said recently that he would have to wait until June to discover where he would be playing his football next season, claiming: "My mind is pointing me towards United and my plan is to stay here for several years more. I've already talked to the club and now we'll have to wait and see what happens in June.

"We talked but I've signed nothing yet. I want to stay. It would be difficult for me to quit one of the biggest clubs in the world."

sidenote: gary neville has extended his contract by a year.

AS THE REPRESENTATIVE OF THE DIE HARD GOONERS / GUNNERS HERE IN SOFT, I HAVE THIS TO SAY utd look untouchable this season

Van Der Sar will still maintain that he hasn't let in a goal in that amount of minutes of matchtime, but Ferdinand, Evra, Vidic and everyone else in Manu can't say the same.

I thought Ronaldo's goal was bloody genius and it feels SO GREAT seeing the tabe with Manchester United 8 points ahead! I'll be watching and hoping our weaker Manchester counterpart rips some points off Liverpool tmr.

Hey thanks bro.Arsenal were very unlucky. They have one of the best build up plays in the league but they lack that finishing touch to kill the game.

United played a hard fought game as always when we're up against Blackburn.Ronaldo as usual is a inspiring genius.

I have a feeling that with Eduardo back Arsenal should be more focused and dangerous in attack now.

Was delighted Wazza bagged another one yesterday. He's got his scoring boots straight back from injury--hopefully he can stay clear and bang in a few more.

Argh i gotta say Man U do look extremely capable of winning another title this season. A draw with Man City just doesn't cut it. But i understand how Gunners fans must feel too, super-frustrating to see their team struggling to score.

The game should have been in the bag!

yes.. now i'm pissed scared. i dont know what kind of tactic fergie will adopt for the home game. we have to attack but be equally tight at the back.

wait.. come to think of it. man u are a team that does that all the time..

dudelove: attacking or not isn't the point really. its making the chances count and getting the ball into the net.

i managed to catch the 1st half, man utd owned inter, but the finishing touch was clearly lacking.
