deathism, if you like, "noballers" sounds like an appropriate term here. anyway, there's no free lunch in this world, even if there is, it's a lousy lunch. Of course, there are generous pple here who are either rich, or they just wanna be a blessing to the kids who are in need of gears. But, pls don't take these pple for granted.
Price wise, i'm sharing what i feel it is acceptable: When it comes to an item that is 10/10, or 9/10 condition, or something that is less than a year old, etc, i think we've got to respect the seller's selling price.
e.g. it cost $1000, current (at that point of time) retail price.
if seller is asking for $900, $800, or even $700, i think it is quite ok.
To avoid being a lowballer, pls lah, don't straight away ask the seller, can sell at $500? i think this will make the seller feel fustrated.
Some of you think there is this "art of bargaining" culture, err, i don't really think so. When i sell me stuff, i always put up the fixed price, it's really no-nonsense. Fixed price means? : Fixed, nothing complicated.
So many times, i got the right buyer almost within 24hours.
From the time the right buyer left me with his contact number (showing he is a sincere buyer),
agreed on my price (respecting my price),
and meeting at my place (confirming that he is serious about the deal),
the lowballers buyers are still struggling to give me their contact number, kept bargaining, and kept asking for a different location and day and time to their convenience...
then, finally, i sold the item, and they got disappointed...
sad isn't it?
so, lowballers, pls, change your formula of "50% or lower", change it to "70% to 90%", you'll be able to get your gear sooner, and enjoy it sooner, and still, it will be cheaper if you were to get it brand new.
Of course, here, i'm assuming the seller knows that he is selling something that is of good condition, matching his selling price to the condition of his gear.
