The Huss and Dalton 12-fret 00 produces a surprising amount of volume out of a small body guitar. Huss and Dalton choose premium Engelmann Spruce for their 00; a top perfectly suited for fingerstyle players. Engelmann exhibits a richer, more complex tone than Sitka, while being remarkably easy to articulate and drive with a light touch. Even the softest of players with be able to appreciate the overtone and response this 00-SP displays. The 00-SP has ample warmth and richness that fills a room. Studio musicians will appreciate how incredibly balanced it is across the fingerboard. No frequency is left unrepresented.

Huss and Dalton braces even their 00 with hand split Adirondack Spruce bracing. A stiffer wood than Sitka, this allows for a more lively and responsive top without sacrificing volume and projection. The 00 is braced for light gauge strings, on par with most fingerstylist’s needs.

This piece is custom built with perfectly quartered cocobolo back and sides with koa neck and body body. An abalone rosette complements the custom appointments to add a modern touch to a classic design.

Huss and Dalton Guitar Company is founded by Jeff Huss and Mark Dalton in 1995. They are now highly regarded as one of the top 5 time-tested boutique builders alongside Lowden, Collings, Bourgeois and Santa Cruz. Huss & Dalton has won numerous accolades for it versatility and tonal richness.

All Huss & Dalton standard series guitars employ a 25' radius built into the guitar top. This is achieved by building an arch into the braces and preparing the sides in the same radius to accept the soundboard. This radiused soundboard design, improves load bearing properties and gives a sweet mid-range boost which gives Huss and Dalton guitars more tonal balance over traditional designs.

All Huss & Dalton guitars are also braced with hand split Appalachian Red Spruce (Adirondack) for greater strength-to-weight ratio than other brace woods. If you are looking to upgrade from a factory built guitar, these guitars will likely be your most affordable option as they offer the most competitive prices in the boutique acoustic market.
