Would love to try one to see wats the diff bet a singlecut and a LP.
i have a Gibson 2002 LP classic. Used to play an Epi LP late 90s korean model i tink.

hey fibredrive is that a 3 piece top on the tokai?

heya ciel21 - nope its 2 piece maple top. me thinks...heh. specs say sycamore, website says maple..dunno who to believe...!
but anyways, love the tone and endless sustain on this...finally contented...i think....hehe...

hmm from the pic it looks like a 3 piece...
or a 2 piece thats not bookmatched in the center...

wat the heck as long as it sounds good.

looking at an orville LP special myself..

I play a LP DC Classic with Dimarzio pickups. I bought it coz I like LP's sound. Some of my fav players like Joe Perry, Slash etc use LP and creates a wonderful tone out of it.

But I realize it has to be used with the correct distortion to maintain the LP sound.

yeah i notice that too, the settings i use with my RG do not work so well with my LP. I prefer lower gain with my LP to get the crunch, and abit more treble for some edge.

i had a epi lp too fitted with sd 59 n jb pups. i didnt really like the 59, but the jb is just plain sweet to me. I sold it for a S540, as the S540 is more verstile.

But i thinking of getting another lp again. But i think i have to live with the weight n limited cutaway of the guitar. After all the talk on japanese lp copies, i'll seriously think i be looking at them next.

love the tone

Shall we start an Ibanez Saber thread? :P

I played an Epi before... while my guitar was being repaired for something... It has EMG 81/81. Had to live with it for a week. OKay stuff.. very dark and mellow sounds...

Would think that the Epi is nothing like the real thing though. Should try a real gib one day. Eh Ciel!!! You hear?!?

Just a normal epi with EMG 81/81 in it... nothing else... no signature...

As for the matter of personal preference on whether an LP copy is better than the real thing.. I guess... no one would know till they've tried both ends extensively eh?

Hmm I have a Burny Les Paul RLG-45Z. Not bad sound. Not bad feel. Considering it is a pretty old guitar but the condition is good!

Ok anyone who wanna expand their lespaul collection, contact me. I wanna sell this baby off. Comes with hardcase! Not modded in anyway =P

PS: Sorry to borrow the thread, but so many LP lovers, just post! HEHE
