Meh, all of you are so persistent that looks are a minor part of someone's choice.
It's a huge part in anyones choice. It's just human nature.
There's usually a "benchmark" that the opposite sex has to reach in order for you to even consider them as a partner. For the average person it's usually not very high, but usually if you look better you know what kind of standard you can get and thus will have a higher benchmark.
I would say once the benchmark is reached, unless the person is really a piece of shit personality-wise you would agree to go out with the person.
As for whether you'll stay with that person, that's when personality and circumstance kicks in.
I think gender also plays a part. Ugly guys seem to have it a lot easier than ugly girls. But they have to be confident.
Sadly, confidence in ugly girls isn't appreciated.
